The supports that go to the hood, are they just like rubber footed props?

 

No, they flip down from the top of the shell and connect into two pins that protrude from the hood.
They are held in place with Cotter pins when the Flippac is open.
The opening mechanism has a torsion bar which is at 50% when either closed or open. These simply hold the lid in the open position.

 

Phat ass...

 

The look is going to take some getting used to. It’s certainly not as shape conforming as my former set up.
In this case I will have to say Function > Form.

 

One thing to note: If you plan on doing a door entry, make sure the flex when offroading wont destroy the door/flippac!

 

It’s got kind of upside down square pants look.

 

I was planning to give it a three-quarter inch gap all the way around to be filled in with bulb gasket material.
It’s still in the planning stages.

 

She'll get along well with HH6

 

Had a great Taco Sunday today!

First I had @Backwoods81 come down and become the new owner of my Leer 100XQ and custom Prinsu rack. Sorry to see it go but with the flippac I don't see switching it out again.



Lots of minor mods and parts were exchanged.

Took a couple shots with the Hovercamera:





Of course there was food... Bonne's buffalo chicken and @Cooktop86 hooked it up with the smoked pork and the incredible Bacon wrapped meatballs.
Snacks served on the workbench!



Didn't get a pic of everyone but we had @Backwoods81 @Blackout14 @TinyTech626 @diabetiktaco @Nimble9 @Grand dude @TOYTONKA @V5ioV & @skatefreak282 all attend (if not all at the same time)


I also got my dual ARB compressor finally mounted in the EE bedside cubby mount. Thx to all who lent a hand for that!



I need to do these more often - it's been far too long & I had a great time. Thanks everyone for making it an awesome meetup!
