Actually I thought my SR5 rode too much like a Cadillac instead of a truck. Reason I lifted it and put stiffer springs on it within 2 months. Truck should ride like a truck not a damn car.

If he has a TRD Sport the V6 comes standard. I'm thinking the guy has an SR or SR5.

I heard Honda is giving away free espresso makers and lifetime pedicures with the purchase of a Ridgeline.

I am curious how a 2wd Tacoma feels compared to 4wd. I rented a 2wd Frontier recently and it was significantly smoother than my 4wd Tacoma. Really, all around, it drove "better" in the terms of what the average consumer is looking for. But it didn't feel like a truck. Maybe I'm being truckist because a truck doesn't have to drive like a truck these days, but for me, the Tacoma is exactly what I expect when getting into a truck. The Tacoma makes you think about what you're doing a little more so that you can manipulate it into complying, which I like, whereas the Frontier did exactly what I told it to do immediately, which is also nice, but a little less interesting to drive.

I'm betting my lunchtime Diet Coke that your tires are inflated to something like the 'max' pressure shown on the sidewall. And you have a C load tire as part of your package.

Drop the pressures to 32 and see what happens. If that helps a bunch, then swap tires with someone who has OE street tires and wants your C loads. That will help about the same amount as the correct pressure did.

Then put a couple hundred # of weight over the rear axle, and you'll like it more.

Now then, aren't you the fella I told the other day to keep commuting in your Corolla, 'cause the truck isn't nearly as good at that?

Honda still under warranty? Even if you have a stuck injector or something I’m sure it’s covered. And tons of people by first year vehicles and never have problems. Maybe stay in the Honda a bit and then go to a ranger if that’s what you really want

You need to be talking to the dealer. All you are getting is guesses here. The sales staff want a happy customer and may make you a very good deal on something you like better.

Well this is a change from the guys complaining that their Tacoma is too slow anyway. But the answer is the same. It's a fawking truck.

what is this "heavy loads" thing you speak of? the payload on the tacoma is really low (1175lbs on a double cab 4x4 trd offroad https://www.toyota.com/tacoma/2017/features/weights_capacities/7544). my odyssey has a higher payload (1340lbs https://www.edmunds.com/honda/odyssey/2012/features-specs/)

but yeah, check your tire pressure. mine was 40psi from the dealer.

There are trucks out there that are very smooth. Might be worth taking a hit since you don't like the truck. I wouldn't recommend putting more money or time into it. Maybe get a longer time loan so the hit won't be so bad. Better to be happy with something you like. Ignore all the Tacoma fanboys with no added value to your thread.
