Remember what I said about giving it attention. I’d hate for TW to be the reason someone gets strung up. It’s on the interwebz now, less is better

I’ve got a few buddies who are right handed but left eye dominant.

One is left handed rifle, but right handed pistol. Hate it. He makes transitions look stupid easy. He can still be swinging the rifle around with his left support hand while drawing a pistol with his right. Smooth AF

It's from The Walking Dead, where it seems continuity isn't that important. Apparently, he's been caught aiming with his right eye a few times during the series.

    ...too much shit to list.
I'm also right handed and left eye dominant. It's a curse and a blessing.
I still shoot rifles right handed but my long game isn't great. Short game with a red dot, i shoot both eyes open and being left eye dominant makes acquiring next target stupid fast.

FWIW, Red dots are designed to have both eyes opened. They’re parallax free. As long as you can see the dot, that’s what it’s pointed at  I have a red dot on a few of mine, for that quick target acquisition :quickdraw::infantry:

Edit: I should clarify most red dots are parallax free, quality ones. I can’t speak for milsim knockoffs and big 5 specials lol

First 5 years I had a regular Red dot on my service rifle. Wasn’t until they started to phase out the CCO optic that I went to the ACOG. Reached out to 5-600 meters with that bad boy.
I have regular 3-9x zoom optics on my hunting rifles, but ARs all have red dots of some sort most of the time.

Yeah, but do they wear a Patch over one eye?

I’ve heard of people with that affliction. Some can use it to a benefit, others are fucked. In a particular CQB technique I keep both eyes open, using right eye for sight picture while holding pistol in the left hand. And vice versa. It’s called C.A.R. Founded by Paul Castle. Love that shooting style.

Love the acog. As for red dot, I have one trijicon for my M1A Squad Scout. It’s fun. But , in my opinion, the red dot should only be used by those who have mastered iron sights first. Creates a lot of bad habits otherwise.

Yea it’s a tv show. Familiar with it. Just falls under category of films not having enough training to be ‘authentic’ or ‘real’.

Very familiar with CAR, used it a bit in classes. I fall back to the isosceles for my style. I prefer to take a round to the front plate.

CAR has its place, but leaves your side vulnerable. While you have a sleeker profile and tighter work space, I prefer the sturdiness and safety of having my main plate facing downrange. To each his own. There are definitely far worse positions

Plus, John Wick has the CAR locked down, I’d probably look like a goof trying it at his speed

I learned the style years ago from Paul Castle, himself. He came and taught some of us boat guys in Sac around 2002, I think. Great guy. Great style. Only meant for inside 10 yards, in tight spaces. I switch to Weaver after 10 yards.

Some armor has side plates. Or the exposed side is protected by your arm. And by being bladed, you offer up a smaller target.

You are correct, but side plates are substantially smaller than front/back plates.

Not sure I’d trust my arm to stop a round shot towards my vital cavity.. every arm wound I’ve seen has been a through and through..

If you’ve waited long enough for a blade to get physically close enough to you to inflict harm, you’ve spent too much time worrying about a stance instead of putting rounds down range.

    But I digress.

When I first saw that movie I thought, wow, Hollywood is starting to finally get shit right. I later heard Reeves took a bunch of C.A.R classes, and did his own stunts. Of course, it’s still Hollywood. No doubt it wasn’t done in one take, and people weren’t shooting at him using real bullets. You’d be fine. When I was first being coached I thought no way was I going to hit anything with my right hand (I’m a lefty). But I was good. And if was with a new gun just issued to us. The H & K SOCOM.45. If I remember correctly it was the model 23. SPECWAR used this for only a short period. Thing was bulky as hell. But a good shooter.

No, bladed, as in, turning sideways to the threat.
