So true about the non-pro grille look. Ironically I have my OR grille posted on EBay and it’s getting bids. I kind of figured nobody would want it. So there is a market for the other grilles on Ebay.

Yeah, not sure why the 17' OEM was so expensive and then the 18' dropped it's price so much. Was going to post the link for anyone interested but they are now saying Discontinued Product. You can still find the part number (PT228-35180) online but not sure if any will come direct from a Toyota dealer. Crazy they are making this such a pain, just put them on the newer trucks and add a couple hundred bucks. C'mon Toyota, relax.

Place a mirror under to look at it. You will see the tab.

Remove it from there before you try to undo the connection. Its easier once its loose.

I barely lifted and pulled apart. Mine was easy. Maybe wash your hands first so they have good grip. I didn't feel at any point I was forcing mine to the point it would break.

Grab a second person. You can look and open the clip just as far as it needs to go, then hold with the other hand. Have the second person pull the other side of the connection. Mine was simple, but if you're having that much trouble, maybe try that.

I used a super small flathead screwdriver to pull up on the tab slightly before pulling it apart.

    Hey TW,

First post here. Working on a 3D printed solution for the Chinese Pro grill as I am not a fan of the OEM shiny garnish. Wouldn’t mind doing an easier route but acces to technology makes it fun to try and manufacture a part.

This is a prototype but we’re on the right track! The final product will have the ridges and look like the rest of the “filled in” portion of the grill. Will also be black of course.

I have some epoxy that I plan on using on my knock off today, but it says not for Polypropylene or polyethylene. Anybody know what these are made of?

Another note about these Chinese/Amazon/eBay grills. I bought the following grill on Amazon for $100, free shipping (packaged really well I might add). Been wanting a new credit card so I signed up for the Prime Visa and got a $70 Amazon gift card. So I paid $30 for the grill. I think all these knock offs are coming from the same vendor and this one had the “panel” of letters rather than the stick-on letters. Also took about 4 days to arrive.

I installed the factory garnish on my grill and the error message went away. But I cant adjust the distance for ACC, it stays on 3 bars. Anybody else experiencing this??

    I’m guessing ABS.

I use JB Weld Plastic Bonder when glueing plastic together and have had great results.
