Did the 275 rub the mud flap? Are the 275 you have a C rated tire? Did you replace the needle bearing? Thanks.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
Thanks to everyone for all the insights. You all make a lot of good points. I think I am going put the lift at the bottom of the list for now. I will take a baseline measurement of the height of my truck and add some skids and sliders. Maybe a lightweight bumper and winch if such a thing even exists. Then, depending on how much the truck sags I'll upgrade the suspension to bring me back to stock height with maybe an additional inch.

Even if I lifted, I don't think I'll ever go bigger than 265/75s. I don't want to regear, and I do drive this truck 80 highway miles per day to and from work, so killing my MPGs and power just doesn't sound like the right fit for me for now.

I guess now I'll head over to the armor forum and start racking my brains out trying to decide on skids! Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Yes, the front mud flap was removed in order to accommodate the tire. The rear flaps were left on. Tires are E-rated, and no needle bearing replacement was installed. At 1” the CV angles were hardly changed at all.

Well I too waited to make that same decision but ultimately I ordered from Accutune a fox 2.5 front and rear with resi's and DSC adjuster out back paired with Icon delta joint uca's and RXT springs for the back end.
Lift not installed as I'm waiting on the springs.
Hoping for minimal to no bad side effects....

I’m sure you’ll be fine. What option are you going with your icon rxt leaf pack?

    Sounds like a good plan.

You're in pretty much the same boat as I am (daily mileage wise to and from work) and I still stand by my original post. 265/75 is PLENTY of tire for casual/moderate off-road adventures and still gives good fuel economy.

Throw some good tires on it, armor up and adjust suspension as/if necessary. :)

you really dont need a 1 or 2 inch lift to make the truck more capable.
I had a jeep that was stock and i used to scrape the under side and bumper
regularly, then i added a 2 inch lift and bigger tires and found that i was still
scraping! my point is, i had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch today..

The truck is well equipped sans maybe the tires to handle most off-road adventures you might embark on. I know the lift for purpose vs looks is a hot topic around here which is at least a bit ironic as most guys get the biggest wood seeing their truck sitting higher with beefy tires vs oh nah brah I lift for clearance and articulation brah :boink: I know several guys who work at 4x4 shops where they sell it all and install it all and the consensus is people are ( lil or big lift ) lifting for looks. Heck I spent an eternity going through the let’s see your 3rd gen off-road thread and well let’s just say some money could’ve been saved on off road enhancements vs stock to forge across most of those pot holes and mud puddles :D

Ok I'm a 2nd gen but a lot of these questions apply here and I'll try and answer what you are asking check your quoted text I'll give the answers in bold in it.

As far as lift selection if I were in your shoes I'd go with the 5100s stock springs, and an AAL in the rear. That to me seems like for what you are wanting the best most economical choice for you at this time. Now if you catch the bug and want to upgrade you have a good base at which to improve upon. Again look at the bold to answer your questions hope that helps.

I was gonna say I’m surprised you aren’t rubbing until I noticed you removed the flaps.
