Yeah. Around here you can find 100s of used Harleys with under 1000 miles on them. I think having a huge rally here gets people to buy because they think they want one, but don't actually like riding it.

I might hit up Neptune’s Net tomorrow. :spy:

If you ever make it out this way definitely worth the detour.
    There’s a HOG rally
Coming up next month that rides from there down to San Diego over three days. I’m considering going even if those things are mostly all old dudes in leather.

Yeah that’s the place. It’s a popular ride because you cruise through the canyons to get there and then take PCH right by the beach as far as you feel like riding. I’m about 40 min away from it.
I actually didn’t even realize until recently that it was in F&F.

    Because “nosss”.

Wear whatever helmet makes you happy man. I used to be all about style but now it’s more about comfort. I have about 6 helmets and my current one is the Lane Splitter. Super happy with it and it breathes so well.
I started with strictly vintage helmets and have one from the 60s that was actually issued by the navy. It has DON markings on it. A buddy painted it red metal flake for me. Love it but that’s the one I crashed with and it took a little damage. I have my dad’s old helmet from the 70s- deep amber metalflake but it needs to be relined. A fulmer 3/4 helmet that I got pinstriped at a show, one of those stupid skull cap helmets that I hated and never even wore, a cheap full face helmet that was my first full face. A couple novelty (non DOT) helmets and now the splitter. It’s already saved my face from bugs and a couple rocks on the road. I might get this one painted with an old school panel and flake job to kind of match the color my dad’s old helmet. The amber should pop with the gold lens I have on it.

Weather's getting perfect around here too. It's been a bit warm lately, but just enough of a breeze is starting to pick up where you're comfortable in full gear.

I need to get a recent pic
01 xr400r plated, since purchase I've added enduro tires, mirrors, pumper carb, and a speedometer .
Regeared from 15/45 to 15/42, I think I need to try 15/44 and see if a 16 will fit for 16/44 which looks like a good combo.
Plan to add a rack, and a 12v wiring setup w/battery.
I adjusted valves and changed the plug, with the pumper carb, this bike moves!
    About 270lbs ...

I thought everyone removed stock exhaust the day they bought their bike.

There will be optional Low and High Akrapovic Slip-ons available from Indian, whatever that will look like.

If I was 25 years younger, it'd be hard to not give this one a try.

Well, yeah. My point was wtf bike does that exhaust go on, cause it isn’t that one. Pretty sweet bike honestly, I’d ride the hell out of it. It would’ve been cool to see Indian do an under tail or belly pan exhaust like on the mt 07’s, but that might be what the Ak low style is. Also would have been cool to see a single sided swing arm. Really like the trellis frame and and look of the bike overall.

It does look strange, but I'd guess most won't have it on there long. Can't tell if the muffler and cat are two piece or are one. Maybe the Akras will bolt to the cat to keep it street legal. I'd rather see a shorty exhaust dump out about where that box starts.

put 1000 miles in the past two days on the 690. lots of pavement pounding obviously but it was nice to just ride.

the ktm seat is too soft i think, latter part of the days i couldnt get comfortable. im also going to look into cruise control device, just for those long highways.

i lost my license plate again. 2nd time so i need to figure something else out.

ordered Rottweiler performance intake and power commander 5 with tune. supposedly good for +12hp/tq with the exhaust that i have.
