All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
That truck looks so slick. You have good taste.

    Cool, let’s make it a swap meet/pizza/beer/archery match ;)

I am rolling to my NC, when I get back I will get some dates together. Whoever can, join in. It’s a family friendly event, where bartering is encouraged ;)

Sweet. I will be bringing a trailer of stuff.
I got a Peragon cover that will fit that ‘15 you got. If you want it, it’s yours.
Also, it’s not just limited to car parts. If you got extra gear (Camping, Knives, Comms, Bags, GPS, Solar, Pelican, Stoves, Chairs, etc) these are all good things to bring.
I will be bringing all that show up a fire extinguisher...don’t ask lol

From my first impression ACC garage is awesome. They just did work on reenforcing my alignment tabs. Super cool crew there, that made me feel right at home. Mike ( I believe) took me back into the shop area, when I was there asking about the task that I needed done. the shop was almost like a show room/museum for older badass toyotas. their waiting room is nice and comfortable (living room style). I waited there for about two hours the day that my truck was being worked on, till my wife came and got me for lunch. when we came back my truck was done, so the family and I went in to pay. we talked a little bit, and I asked for a decal. their response was "what size shirt are you?". I got my decal, a t-shirt, and the thing that meant the most to me was how they treated my baby girl. They gave her a shirt too. So then we left to go to the parking lot, and as soon as we got loaded up, baby girl woke up raising hell, needing a change and hungry. They let us come back in with out looking annoyed to take care of her. Really impress with them. Never once did I feel like I was dealing with a smooth talking BSer, and one can tell that they have a passion for what they do and for our beloved toyotas.

It is our home away from home. I am glad you went down there. IMO they are some of the most solid people I have met after moving to Atlanta (which I was not happy about). Like you they treated me like family from the get go.
They are shifting their business model towards offering to add more service work. As you can see they have a small shop, a lot of their time is put into building/restoring these old Landcruisers.
While this is sweet for a couple customers at a time, they are about to add a couple more skilled techs and will be able to manage more day to day work as well (oil, brakes, timing service, etc).
They offer it all, as well as Powder Coating thru their other internal business called Smoking Gun Powder Coating.

I want to introduce any/all of you to them. As not only is it a place to get work done, by like you said it’s a family. One brought together from a passion to build out and explore. Hence their modo, “Where Do You Want To Take Your Truck”

I spoke with my buddy who own the shop Brian or ‘Dugan’ as he goes by, and he is more than happy to invite people to come over.

If he goes for it, it'll be a very safe/stable career choice IMO. So many choices out there in the field, regardless of which discipline he chooses, if he ends up going engineering. The spread of job offers I had both while co-oping and right after graduating was huge. There are many days I wish I'd gone with the career choice I truly wanted, but then again, I'm not in too bad a spot as-is. It's all about taking everything in stride, right?

Too bad they only service Toyota/Lexus. My Ford is the one that's gonna end up needing more work I'm sure. That Taco has only ever been to a shop twice since 2005, not counting recalls/TSB's.

Where might you be located? I got a buddy who owns a shop in Powder Springs who works on all makes and models. His name is Brad, he has a small shop at his house called Full Moon Garage. He is a very good mechanic, friendly and fair. Can’t beat the work for the money. Let me know if you want his number.

Hopefully I get a year or two out of it after the warranty expires before it needs any major work. I'll probably hit you up when the time comes.

Those little cars are sick! I was looking for one too but all the decent ones where out of my price range at the time.

If people just throw out some dates I'm sure we can get a nice little meet up or even camping trip together up in North GA. It's just every time I suggest something nobody gives me any dates :cookiemonster: I'm typically free every weekend

Woohoo! Prinsu Cabrac & 42" Single Row LED bar on order. I have wanted one of these things for so long.

Those of you that have installed your Prinsu, any advice for the install? I haven't researched it very much but it sounds like the weather channel may be a bit of a pain to get through for the mounting?

It's real easy if you are not anal, and have a set of extra hands for the mounting part. I simply removed the channel from the cab, put the rack together semi loose on the ground, then set it on top. Silicon the crap out of the holes, cut the channel rubber where it meets the first support (i used a hacksaw) and call it a day. I will take a pic for you in a bit.

The hard way is to drill holes in the channel rubber and try to line it all up, unless you are Shaq you wont be able to see my roof.IMG_20181002_112316319_HDR.jpg IMG_20181002_112224123_HDR.jpg IMG_20181002_112211922_HDR.jpg

Hearing that they are moving towards getting more techs where they can manage more service work, makes me excited. I will definitely let them turn wrenches on my truck anytime, if its something beyond my capabilities (time or skill set).

there is one or maybe a few (I cant remember) videos on Youtube that helped me out with the install. Not a hard task. You will want a second set of hands at some point.
Just be thankful that you wont have to drill through your roof like @BYJOSHCOOK did.

Pick up a hole punch off Amazon (think it's 3/4”?). Pull up the weather stripping to expose the roof rack holes, but leave the stripping attached. Place masking tape down on each side of roof holes and use a marker and a straightedge to mark the center of the bolt hole. Lay the weather stripping back down and transfer the mark from the masking tape on to the weather stripping. Take weather stripping off and use the hole punch and a BFH to punch your holes. Using a dremel to remove the metal strip on the backside of the weather stripping may make it a little easier. I think it makes the prinsu install look much cleaner, with not much more effort.

Once you have the weather stripping punched, put them back on, build your rack (keep everything fairly loose), place blankets/towels on the roof, lift/slide the rack into place, use a hershey sized glob of silicone on each bolt hole and on the bolts, tighten everything up, and enjoy!

Edit: You could also build the rack on the truck by installing the side rails in place first and then adding the crossbars... Might be easier to do alone. May be harder to square up the rack that way though.

Yea it was a pain because I kept it! If you ditch it and just cut the front and the back so it looks like it’s there is a lot easier!

Thanks, guys. I'm planning on keeping the weatherstripping in tact so looks like I'll need a punch. At least now I know what I'm up against. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions when it gets closer to install day.
