    @Aw9d
    Looking for some advice in the car stereo department. Just looking for something cheapish to go in my 4runner. I like this one because it will play a USB thumbdrive with mp3, flac and also connect bluetooth. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500UTE62BT/Alpine-UTE-62BT.html

    I don't think that I will do an amp. Might upgrade door speakers also. Do you have any suggestions on those? Probably just stick with 6 1/2 in the front door along with a tweeter. Don't need anything in the back, no one ever there. I saw these https://www.crutchfield.com/p_575P165SE/Rockford-Fosgate-P165-SE.html?tp=106

    I am not looking for loud just something that will play over road noise and traffic without costing too much. Maybe stay around $500. Is there anything you have looked at in that price range that has caught your eye? Anything I should look for specifically or must haves that I am not thinking about?

    Thanks for you time on this. :cheers:

    Question for you. I have been curious about this for a while. Do many folks backpack the entire trail?

    Yep I get that too!

    The beard is scary for a lot of folks. I even had it come up in conversation if people treated me differently with my beard than without it. Which is true, folks were way more open before the beard, now they just keep to themselves unless I speak first.

    Then again not sure the last time a red/brown bearded dude looks like a terrorist, more like a pirate! :rofl:

    I get the "bearded terrorist look" all the time. I get the "omgyouhaveasexybeard" look with greater frequency.

    It is a fairly small percentage, but many do it in chunks ( 25 miles, here 30 miles etc). And start racking up 100 mile sections. It totals 800 miles.

    Some incredible sections near Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff.

    This setup will work and is a decent little system. I'd look into an Alpine Powerpack as the HU isn't going to push that much power. The power they claim isn't always accurate and if they say 45watts you can expect 15-20 watts of clean power. Those alpine power packs are perfect for a setup like this. Since you are running a 2ch setup (which is correct for sound staging) that alpine will do 90watts of power and make those Rockfords come alive. They are cheap, small, easy to install and every single setup I've heard with one installed has impressed me. If you decide later to go 4ch in the runner then you can use the Alpine powerpack as a 4ch amp and get 45watts per channel.

    Thanks. This looks cool. I think the only thing that I could see myself adding would be a single 10" sub. Could the powerpack run that as well? Ir should I future proof with something else?
