I have read and look and have seen so many options but I am still undecided. I saw crashandburns thread it again still unsure so looking to see what you guys think. Also let me know what your running. I currently have hids in my low and auxbeam led in my fogs. I have heard great things about xenon depot so I was thinking of buying the hid kit and putting my current hid in the fogs and the aux beam in the hi. Next option would be to get the keep the current hid and just get the led kit for the fogs and again aux in hi, next would be hi and lo new leds and sell the aux beam keeping current hid, replace all with xenon depot the hid for the lo the led for the rest. Next options would be for plug and play fogs but again undecided cali raised, Baja, k/c, morimoto, rigid. Any info would be greatly appreciated I know some are not sae dot but the ones that are using do you get flashed a lot. The truck is a lease so want plug and play even if I don't buy it in the end 3 years is a long time and I would like to have good lighting.

You listed a few options here in terms of what you can get. What are you looking to get out of your low beams, high beam, and fog lights?

If you want the best throw go with an HID kit, yes the LED have less parts and are somewhat easier to install but the light output from an HID kit is still superior to the drop in LED bulbs.

I personally went with the XenonDepot HID kit with the Philips bulbs and couldn't be happier after almost a year of use.

XenonDepot take a genuine Philips bulb (OEM hid type bulb) and rebases the bulb to H11 which is what our trucks use. 4300k is what most OEM bulbs are and around the best temp for usable light output.

Keep in mind, any vendor is like to recommend products they sell, whether or not that is the best fit.

HIDs are going to put out drastically more light than LEDs. @XenonDepot has genuine German Philips bulbs available with their HID kit, which is what I would recommend for low beams. These will be far brighter than any LED with superior distance projection. In the case of my measurements they are 3.8x brighter than LEDs.

HIDs should never be run in reflector housing, do not put them in your fogs. They will cause excessive glare. The best LED fog for maximum output is Rigid SAE fog pods, followed by KC G4s. If you’ve read the thread you’ve seen the pros/cons.

One of the important things for a high beam is the ability to “flash”. HIDs due to their slow startup lack this ability, they are not a good high beam option. I would leave the OEM H9 halogen for the high beam.

Yep, I think I have decided on going with the 4300k Phillips bulb. After a bit of hours it looks like it shifts to around 4700k and that is perfect for me! I just want the brightest I can get and I think this will do it.

Thanks for these suggestions! One of my biggest issues is matching of color temperature between multiple lights. How similar is the Xenon Depot HID low beam with the Rigid SAE and KC G4 in terms of color temp?

Indoor wall shot comparing XDs Philips 4300k HID to their LED. Light color can be a bit misleading, pictures do not do this justice. It is important to note that you want to maintain a hotspot for distance projection, you’ll notice the HIDs have a great intense hotspot, the LEDs do not, meaning the HIDs are going to do far better at distance projection.

The Rigids are 7400k color temp, they are way too high up there for my tastes. I would not recommend color matching them. The KC G4s are 5000k temp, which is far better. The Philips bulbs are 4300k, but Xenon Depot does offer their own bulbs in 5000k which are slightly lower in output. Personally I would go with the German Philips bulbs, but you could color match the 5000k.
