The game has them. The one this past weekend was Chikorita’s. During certain hours more of them appear. Gave people the chance to catch shiny ones.

This is on my way too work. Too bad I wouldn’t feel safe stopping. lol

 

Once a month they have it. They pick a random ‘mon and it’s basically the only thing that spawns from 2:00-5:00 (EST) and all the research tasks are themed as well. You can usually catch 8-10 shinies (I’ve caught 13+ most of the days). They also include a special move during those hours if you evolve them. I don’t care about move sets though, I just like collecting the shinies lol...

Every couple of months they have a second Community day that is centered around raids. For 3 hours every gym has an on going raid and they give 5 free passes for you to do some. They increase the shiny rate on those too. So far they’ve done that for each of the legendary birds and I got 1 shiny each out of the 5 raids each time. The group in my area is much more intense than I am and they raid the full 3 hours. I don’t spend money on this game so as soon as my free stuff is gone I go home lol...

Yep. Got a pass for 1:00 today. Didn't think I'd be able to do it but had a meeting get rescheduled so I ran out real quick to knock it out. Luckily had a 2nd group wait to start the raid until I got there

I don’t have any to send. Believe me, you guys are top priority since we aren’t ultra friends yet and also for the distance. I’ll try to get out tomorrow to load up the inventory again

 

I hatched myself a Khangaskhan today and another grimer, and a chansey. Had a good day of egg hatching

I also went 0-3 on shiny Dratini opportunities with the new task but I did get the new Spinda form

That's an Alolan Rat. That is what hatches out of the eggs in the gifts, Alolan forms. Geodude, Ratata, Vulpix, Grimer, Diglet, and Sandshrew all have alolan forms. You can also catch Alolan Exeggcutor in the wild and raid for Alolan Raichu.

Until Oct8 the gift eggs also have the 3 regionals from Gen 1 (Kang, Mime, and Fetch).

I caught this ratata. I didn’t hatch it. I know about the eggs. But I see brown and purple ratata in the wild around me.

I got the geodude (who’s now golem), vulpix, and grimer from eggs in the other form. And then I got a kang yesterday and fetchd this morning.

 

Alolan rats also spawn in the wild. Geodude and Diglet did for a while but now they are back to just eggs.

 

Ah. That clears that up then. Thanks for the egg this morning haha. Hopefully I hatch a mr mime
