Will do - thanks for the clarification. I'm not too concerned since it drives "fine", just figured I would ask :)

The only reason I still don't like it with ECT on is it is still unpredictable and shifts all the time.. That is why I decided to go with the tune.. Fingers crossed it fixes my complaints

5.7 tundra will fix all your problems. if your looking chevy get the 6.2 option, the 5.3 is dogshit.

yah...but...your engine won't last very long with a supercharger.

Yah but Toyota stopped producing them because they were tired of engines breaking down and dealing with warranty. The new 3rd gen trucks rock with OVtune. I have armor, bigger tires, lift, etc and its my daily driver averaging 17-20mpgs

    I went with ovtune.
I like the truck except how it works, looking to see if OVtune fixes this!

From reading, I expect it! I hate how much it shifts and lugs and shifts and then lugs again.... I drive in a relatively hilly area so it is is CONSTANT
I am excited, hope it gets shipped out in the next couple of weeks.

If it helps, know that you WILL feel a difference. Also, I got 19 mpgs towing my 13' pontoon boat for over the Santiam pass in Oregon

Heck I am not hoping for more gas mileage, I just got 25mpg with the stock tune on a trip up to seward. I am hoping mpg stays the same, possibly less, but driveability and livability goes up. I hate the way the truck behaves.
It drives great steering wise, I just hate the way the ECU and TCU act.

Not sure where you got that info. The units and trucks are very reliable. Pretty sure they stopped supplying them as they did not fit with the new Atkinson cycle engine strategy.

I stand corrected. I imagine that increasing the heating of an engine does not help engine life since heat is the #1 enemy of components and engine parts.

Very true. Fortunately Toyota thought of that, the unit runs a highly effective liquid-to-air intercooler, which allows for a cooler to be sandwiched between the engine and the supercharger to cool the supercharger and the intake air and pipe heat to a large front mount radiator without increasing the intake track. The coolant temps are only 10 degrees above ambient under heavy use of continuous boost. Since the supercharger utilizes a bypass valve system, the only time it is generating significant heat is when it is under boost, meaning it free spins much of the time doing nothing, which also has minimal affect on mpgs. The unit has a 1/2 hp parasitic loss when not boosting. So yes, heat is not your engines friend and a supercharged engine will not last as long as an NA one (all else being equal) but Toyota/Magnuson did an excellent job deigning it to have minimal impact, hence my comment on it being OEM.

Seen a guy on tundra forum said he dumped his third gen because even after ovtune it didn’t help. Do your research on tundra forum I guess. Been reading over there cuz I’m about to dump my Tacoma. Maybe for a tundra
