Been noticing a weird issue since having W4400NEX Head unit installed in my truck . it's seems to be an issue trying to connect to apps on your smart phone

For me it's an issue with trying to get Slacker Radio to work . I'm having issues with it not connecting wirelessly or cabled connection . it keeps shutting off and not reconnecting . Also getting pop ups on my phone or on the HU screen , some same incompatible cable or other error message

Even trying using Google assistant and asking to open app will fail and lock the screen out requiring you to pull over and turn phone back on or remove cable tether . Sometimes it works perfectly and other times you get a deny or allow pop up

Never had an issue with my 4200nex using Android Auto and it worked flawlessly . Went to the car audio shop that installed it and they're willing to get me 8400nex upgrade for the price of a restocking fee for the 4400nex

I then start talking with one of the installers and he mentions his LG G6 phone won't work or acts up with his W4400NEX , I've got the same phone !!!! . So a few min ago i start Google searching this issue and find out some confirmed answers . Seems that Pioneer knows or has a connection issue with type c charge cables especially LG phones and Samsung phones

They say its an issue with Android Auto but no confirmation of a fix or repair to resolve the issue

Here's two links I found and both describe the same connectivity problems

Have you tried a different USB cable?

Yep tried (2) different cables no luck , even a wireless connection has issues

As mentioned this is an issue with Samsung and LG phones according to Pioneer

Heading to the car audio shop in a few to see if they contacted a Pioneer rep over this issue and if the can resolve this problem

I have an 8200NEX and I've been having problems with it crashing. Sometimes I even have to restart the truck to get it to come back on.
