the wash that turned into more, and questions

so today i decided to wash my truck this morning, washing also turned into waxing, i used "nu finish" which IMO works great. i opened my hood and cleaned the battery terminals and connections and cleaned the engine cover then i thought to myself"how hard would it be to clean the throttle body"? so i took it all apart and got into the throttle body, which i thought wasnt too bad, btw its a 4.0 V6

1. i used simple green very lightly to clean the throttle body i was wondering if that was ok? (its already done so no changing it)

2.i remember when i was in auto shop 2 years ago one of the cars had the idle air flow was seperate from the mass air flow, where i saw my truck doesnt have that, while my "butterfly" was partially tilted leaving a little space and was wondering if that was our idle air

3. lastly, when everything was torn apart, if you look through the hole that connects to the throttle body there was a plastic loop coming from the top, which is past the mass airflow sensor, i was wondering what that was, what it is for?

ya i looked at that, which is how i found the bolts.

my thing is the simple green was very light, like i sprayed a little squirt on a rag and scrubbed,
idk i dont think that i hurt it

nvm i hope i didnt hurt it

 

If you spray on the rag first and then lightly scrubbed I suppose that would be fine.
But there is also nothing wrong with using the spray and tooth brush next time, just like in the how-to. My theory is that I should try to use the right tools for the job, when ever I work on something. Using the spray made for Throttle Bodies is the right tool for the job.
But I don't think you have anything to worry about if the truck runs fine and no codes.
