Some idiot (customer) at Cabelas told me that you should never buy a 9mm because it will just bounce off a windshield and that anyone carrying 9mm was an idiot. I asked him if we was willing to test his theory in the parking lot by driving at me. He did not take me up on the offer.

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of evidence that a .45 is going to do more damage than a 9mm, but calling the 9mm a junk cartridge is just ignorant. It'll do plenty to stop a human within 7 yards, and if that isn't the range necessary, you probably shouldn't shoot (or even draw) your weapon.

A USAF security forces Airman dropped an armed perpetrator (with an AK-47) from 75 yards with one round of 9mm. From low ground. On a bicycle.

The Cabelas asshat needs a cranial enema.

No shit, .45 is stronger than 9mm, but I like the softer recoil of a 9mm.

Agreed. I often keep my mouth and my opinion to myself. The "you wanna test that theory" question just kind of slipped out.

I shoot both. I prefer the 9 myself. Oddly enough, my carry pistol is a .40. Decided on that one because the .40 is one of the last to go and first to reappear in an ammo shortage....at least that is how it was after the sandy hook incident.

Wow, I wish we had a gun thread where people could share their caliber insecurities instead of the Stock Trucks On The Highway Or Parking Lot thread.

Except that the length and weight of pull is much greater on a revolver.

Not really sure how to respond to that. If you are carrying a revolver, it’s likely a DA J-frame, and they typically have pulls around 10-12 lbs. I don’t know of any striker fired semi auto in that territory.

Going from one job to the next in the work vehicle I had a Taco on my tail. Only had mine a week and a half, and I'm seeing them everywhere.
