    Leafs fans. I just noticed that they waived their veteran back-up goalies (which have now each been picked up). Thoughts? So Sparks is the real deal, I assume? Or at least good enough to hold down the back-up job and possible be the starter at a later time?

    I am pissed about losing Mcmuffin on waivers. Sparks cannot stop an NHL beachball to save his life. Looks like a stupid move of massive proportions but it's hard to not believe in this management right now so we will see. I think Mcmuffin was easily the best backup in the league last year and if you look at the games he played in he got 20-25% of the leafs overall points. That's playing the second half of back to backs and likely the hardest starts of the year for any goalie. Was great. I actually seen him live in February when they lost to Florida and he was unreal

    Ya, it seems so. Probably a decent move but I just don't know much about Sparks to really say. Was just curious.

    Sparks is an amazing AHL goalie right now. But as soon as he hits the NHL where you have a split second less to react and the players have way more finishing skill he's struggled big time. Even the games he didn't let a ton in he didn't look dialed in. I really hope he will figure it out because a 25 year old home grown cheap backup is never a bad thing for sure
