Won’t work. You have the v6 right? That truck won’t have the electronic throttle.

You need a 2003/2004 truck.

 

The pipe bender is ok if you bend pipe (which IS different than tube) nice and slow. I built my bumper with it.

Not as nice as the JD2 I had at the shop I worked at but I borrowed the pipe bender for free.

 

Yeah V6, wouldn't want the manual tranny though. Is that what your referring to?

 

The HF bender is a monumental pile of shit. Mine now lives in my scrap metal pile.

I consider myself a skilled fabricator. This was a waste of money and time.

Is your truck Automatic?

2003/2004 5VZ v6 trucks have what's called the ETCS-i electronic throttle system. On these trucks you must use a transmission with the ETCS-i valve body, or it won't work.

You can only use a transmission from a 2003/2004 truck, and very specific year 4Runners.

 

This one has the entire procedure for add and electric lockers, parts, order of operations for functions to take place. Invaluable and I only paid $20

 

Damn, diffs and lockers too...

This Toyota book even has a test for the technician in it haha

 

Also I should add most of those 2001-2004 trucks will have the Pushbutton 4WD. It became standard in 2001, J-Shift became an option IIRC.

Oh and that website is a broker for Copart. Just buy directly from Copart and use a broker to save on fees.
