Are you asking how its possible to pay off you truck early between 2013 and 2018? That's 5 years? With zero down, assuming $500 a month, that's $30,000.

Assuming, worst case... $100 a month goes to interest, that's $22,400... In principle... What was down payment????

No, I was asking how it’s possible to have a truck that long (5 years) and only have those few miles.

Took me four years to pay my new truck off in 2015. Can't see ever financing again. As Mr. Money Mustache says, "You should never even spend all your money on a car, let alone more than all your money."

Its easy, you don't drive it. I ride my bike everywhere in all weather. I put less than 5k on my vehicles a year. I also drive from Colorado to Idaho sometimes, I often drive to Utah. You would be surprised how few miles you put on your truck when you stop driving it daily.

I abide by the ideology that cash is for shitty cars/trucks and credit cards are for fix'n em. I don't understand why people pay full retail for a truck, take off half the parts, and then bolt on the entire value of the truck in after market parts. Buy a used Tacoma, spend 5k on modifications and fixing a few things, good to go. Ends up being less than a 1/3 of the price of a stock new truck.

    WTF?

You should never go in debt period for a car let alone to modify them.

Fixing is not modifying. Fixing is fixing. Reserved for moments when things stop working - not when the truck needs to be lifted for the sake of lifting it. The credit card comes out for these moments so I can get to work. Now, how people choose to pay off/down/ignore their credit card balance is their personal choice. Since you have mistaken my original quote and insinuated that I do have poor financial practices, I want to assure you that my financial practices are very sound. I appreciate your concern.

Emergency funds are good for untimely repairs. Credit cards are not emergency funds.

It builds credit. You have to get loans at some point. I agree, cash is best stay outta debt, but no credit history will screw you in the end!!!! When I waS 17 I got a credit card. Paid EVERYTHING with it, paid it off every month. When I was 19, I saved enough to buy a brand newJeep, credit score good enough to get a loan. I traded in my 4Runner, got a few thousand for it financed the rest. Went to the bank made all 59 payments, left one payment left. A year later, went to the bank, made last payment, picked up title. Picked up credit score an amazing amount!

If you have cash, still buy on credit, pay off early!

My Tacoma, I was much older, alot of bills, put about 30% -40% down, made the small payments, Plus a little extra, still paid it off ahead of schedule.

Some people don't have emergency cash under the mattress man. CC's are emergency funds sometimes.

Sold my first house last month and made a cool 6 figure profit. Paid off the wifes 2012 Tacoma and got me a new fun daily driver and retired my 300k mile 4runner to offroad only. It does feel good to have the truck paid off. I put a lot down on the Caddy but did get a small loan. 2004 CTS-V, 400hp, 6 speed manual.
