OEM Cargo Divider

Hi - I have a 3 fold Tonneau cover on my 2018 Tacoma. I'd like to get an OEM cargo divider
PT767-35162. Does anyone know if the divider can be used under the Tonneau cover? I thought I read somewhere that it would work if you install the tightening knobs from the bottom instead of the top.

 

According to the site, not if they're both OEM. I have the tonneau on and was wondering the same thing.

 

Thanks Boyitz. This is what made me skeptical to the OEM divider hence my question to all the Tacoma blog peeps. But then I found this from another Tacoma blog...sorry I'm new to this, otherwise would direct you to it. But pfairhur with a 2016 Tacoma confirmed he bought the OEM divider and that if you install the rail bracket upside down (tightening knobs on bottom) it works perfectly with the OEM trifold hard cover. This is the pic he posted.

 

The cargo divider works with the OE hard tonneau cover. I have an aftermarket hard cover and the divider works but I can only slide it a limited amount on the tracks because the tonneau cover uses the tracks as an attachment point.

 

Well, I bit the bullet and decided to go with the OEM cargo divider as it received very good reviews. As some others have said, and I can now verify, If you turn the bracket upside down it will work perfectly. Basically I switched the left and right bracket and installed so the tightening knob is on the bottom. I attached pics of the divider installed below.

That would be a bit of a drive for me, lol. I'm going to see what my employee discount gets me at work.

 

I have a topper with the attachment points as well. how does the attachment mechanism for this divider work? Can it be moved around passed the attachment points or can it only slide on from the rail opening by the tailgate to the first attachment point?

Thanks. I figure as much but could never confirm. I was hoping maybe you could uncrewed it and move it off the rail to place else where some how.

 

Is there an aftermarket divider perhaps better for le$$, maybe made out of aluminum?

I use this and it works find for most things. It goes on sale for like $20-25 bucks. There's a bunch of different ones. I've seen people use two of them for better coverage but one works fine for me. I mainly use it to keep my ice chest from sliding around and it works great.

 

No special sales that I could find. I found some in the $228 range but after shipping cost about the same as most others...between $275 - $290. If you're close enough to pick these up yourself then you might be in luck. I'm a Costco member so just went to the dealer who listed at about $305 minus 15% brought it to about $260 and after tax totaled about $282. It was a few dollars more but I figured I could try returning if something didn't work out right.

 

Too expensive for a divider... Its better to wait for someone to sell one on here or eBay.

Harbor freight carries two of these type both work for me. I use them to hold these two Home Depot totes that fit perfectly. Great for groceries etc.

The only thing i don't like about the bar is, the amount of pressure you are putting to the bed side walls. The OEM divider rest and adjust in the rails without causing any pressure to the bed walls. On my opinion, I would add bed stiffeners in the case of using the bar constantly to prevent any damages down the road.
