Does it unzip all the way on the bottom to become flat like a blanket, so you can buy 2 and put them together with the zippers and make a queen size?

    *Edit*
Never mind, if you just read it all Wes, it tells you can do this.

Two-way zippers can improve foot ventilation or join two bags

    hahahahahaha
yes you can. thats actually exactly what I got them for with the girlfriend and I. But since she never comes and wouldn't be coming in the colder months I'm actually selling my two to Peter as him and Karoline could use some new bags. I've used mine two or three times and was really impressed.
Honestly if they packed down smaller where I can use it canoe camping I'd be keeping it and using it regularly. But since it doesn't I have two different down bags from MEC.
one rated to 5C (that I used last trip and wasn't warm but didn't freeze when it got down to 3C)
and then a -9C rated which is actually rated to -12
Its weird how they rate it.

Its labeled as a -9C bag but then says this in the info
    EN Comfort Temperature Rating
    -5°C
    EN Limit Temperature Rating
    -12°C
From what it explains if you click it on the site it says -5 is the rating for someone who normally feels cold when sleeping so need extra warmth. -12C is the temp it can be brought to where a warm sleeper will start feeling cold.

This bag packs down to just a little larger than a nalgene bottle though.
...its also a $260 bag so not like everyone will be willing to buy something like that. But when you need to save space and weight for canoeing its easier to swallow the price tag.

Yea the wife and I have been discussing that we dislike our setup for the tent with blankets. So I think we will go pickup 2 of those from cnd tire tonight.

    blankets are rather inefficient.
too many openings where heat escapes.

the smaller the bag the warmer it will be since its less air and space your body has to heat up. hence why mummy bags are the warmest. But they're also rather uncomfortable lol

Do you have the smaller heater, the one that screws on top of the cannister or the carry one?

You always need ventilation though to run those but I prefer a warm bag instead.

They give off a bit. They have a low 02 shut off and mines never shut off being run 8 hrs straight in a tent. Im still here, maybe not all there tho.
It will at the least keep the moisture down

    can confirm

I've used a mr.buddy in a tent for years(and months each year). It's generally poor practice to fall asleep with propane burning. I have stuck it in the vestibule where there is good ventilation low down, but the rain fly still catches the heat.
If you're worried about gas poisoning then just fire it up 10 minutes before you want to get up. Takes the chill out very nice.

It's never a good idea to gamble with your life, but as a forestry worker for over a decade, I survived living in a tent in subzero/rain for weeks on end. Makes mornings much easier, and keeps moisture in check. I used to get seasonal respiratory infections before using a heat source.. and candles are literally playing with fire.. Tents are very, very flammable(ask me how I know)..

I'd say I'd do it again, but f that, I've done my time..
