When you get depressed that you can't droop your truck because you have too much travel...

I’m in a similar boat. I plan to do 4.88 but probably only 33”, may do 35 in the future. The math worked out for the 5 speed that at 80 mph, the fastest highway speed limit I’ve encountered, in 5th gear the engine would be at about 3200-3300 rpm. The 2tr seems quite happy in that range even for prolonged periods.

It’s about 400 rpm more than stock numbers at that speed.

In your case it would probably be wise to go a bit on the lower end of gearing. It may be slightly more rpm than stock but the 2tr can handle it and the extra bit of torque will be worth it.

I am highly doubtful the lift they have could droop out a linked truck. It didn't look like there was much left just getting mine up in the air

i hope for your sake that highway is flaaaaaat. rythmic bumps on the highway sucked imo with a hitch hauler, maybe it was just the right frequency for my truck though

    A thing or two...
I've got tables and table in a spreadsheet comparing stock vs how the truck is now vs regearing. Everything points to 4.88 being the best option. It's less than 200 rpm over stock with my current tire size, and I don't plan on going larger.

hey, Im sorry i dont have one for sale, but I do have a noob question about the one in my truck, first of all what exactly does it do, and mainly, do you know why there would be a weird rattling hissing type weird noise that comes from the vapor canister after I shut off the engine? it stops if I pinch certain hoses but starts again right after I release. is that "normal" or should it not make nosies?

thanks in advance if you have any info to help me!

EDIT: syke, you can ignore my dumbass:sorry: I found the thread

Shit that's not a bad price. And they come in handy for way more than just working on the truck.

Oh I've sneaked use of mine at work a few times when I'm the only one there to check certain things out and it makes life so easy. Might hat to think about owning one after I start making real money again. Probably get something with tracks so I can attatch a plow to it somehow for winter. That'll at least help the purchase argument with the gf

Numbers and math say I should go 4.88, but I have read tons of posts about people getting 4.88 and being unhappy that they spent a lot of money for minimal difference. I am going 5.29 because I want it to bounce off the line and be able to get to 60-70 offroad as fast as possible, and also be able to get rolling uphills and in slippery terrain. The 2.7 is governed at 107 but the likelihood of it pushing 35s that high is 0%. I would rather be banging off the redline at 90 instead of slugging to 90 and not having enough mechanical advantage to go any faster.

Can anybody point me in the right direction for a pinch style preload nut for some Fox 2.5 coilovers? I went to adjust mine and one side has jumped a couple threads.

I was told nice and snug should be good - were the threads nice and clean before the retainer was seated on them?
