Yup, I went from a 2001 Tundra with the V8, to the 2017 Tacoma. The old Tundra was absolutely bulletproof. Drivability was amazing. There was never a hiccup, jerk, stumble, lack of power, or anything negative. I had high hopes for all the new technology in the new Tacoma. If it drove nearly as well as the trusty old 300K mile Tundra, I would be very happy.

He also may have asked testers to not comment publicly on 1.05, and it wouldn't be the first time. When us MT folk were helping him with the development of 1.04A, he requested that we kept our public comments about it to ourselves for the final test iteration because people have the tendency to take the comments about an unfinished product as gospel, even though they KNOW it's unfinished and in development. They ignore that and take the comments to be the final verdict/review and then start spreading shit based on that

At 35 months with only 7.5k miles. Hate driving it the way it is, and this tune will decide if I keep it. :fingerscrossed:

So I reflashed 1.04r, and it definitely learns. Anyone who thinks otherwise, reflash 1.04r, go for a drive and get back to me.

Yes, the version provided is certainly a test version being used to finalize 1.05. That said, my initial impressions are very positive. Effortless acceleration, smoother shifting, ZERO lugging, no quick upshifts, smoother engine performance, and the torque converter changes are very noticeable and positive. More to come, but so far so good.

I thought Mat said he wasn’t able to eliminate learning in the past, but drastically reduce it. He mentioned if he changed all the shift maps to be the same it wouldn’t shift. He was able to reduce like 35 maps to 5 or something like that.
