Love dashcams. Have them on 3 of my cars first one I installed 6 years ago. Always makes things pretty clear cut for insurance if ever you need it. Or you can just use it to catch stupid people driving lol. Have a thinkware f800 pro front/rear on my 3rd gen

Pretty straightforward. I wired the dash cam to its own battery source so it can run for about 20 hours while parked and not drain my battery. Just a 12V switched and ground for the dashcam battery (cellink). Hiding the wires in the headliner was more difficult than the actual wiring

I only have a front facing dashcam. It's been pretty good so far. Thankfully I haven't needed it for anything serious. The install was easy. It also has a parking mode detection. When I put my truck in park, it kind of goes to sleep, but if it detects any motion in front of it while parked, it starts recording for a set amount of time and saves the video clip. I have a garmin 45.

I also have the Blackvue, it took a few hours to install. Fairly straight forward, just take your time.

    Too much.
I'm using the BlackVue DR590-1Ch. I had it on the GoPro mount, but found that the TSS radar blocks the camera more than I like, so I changed the mount to a mirror mount, and it's fantastic.

For those with the parking mode, I assume the camera has an internal battery than charges when the ignition is on?

The "Power Magic Pro" power pack (what I have installed) utilizes the truck's battery for parking mode, but will shut down when it senses the battery is getting critically low.

I don't use parking mode, yet

Oh, that's interesting. I was guessing that stuff like cell phones and GPS units have made built in batteries the norm.

I'm sure there is some sort of battery in mine, I believe it stays in parking mode for like 5 minutes then shuts down.

I paused it and it looks like a loveseat, but honestly I’m not sure. It was a pucker moment.

Is anybody running a go pro as dash cam? My truck has the built-in mount for it and I was thinking of wiring a 12v power source up there so it could constantly charge while running.
