Why do these threads always turn into a “toyota should not make a diesel argument” if they make one and you dont want it dont buy it. If they make a hybrid or electric tacoma im not buying that, but i dont argue why toyota shouldnt waste thier time making one.

I think it's because these threads pop weekly with zero proof it's happening. When the question comes up, that gives the opportunity to present why it's not going to happen. Which it isn't. The only thing that's certain, we still will get weekly diesel threads.

I LOVE IT! BIG BRO RIG ....I would do the same thing to my little brother, & thank you for letting me know as I've kept my eye on these trucks and like to hear real world feedback. Nice pic of both of these excellent trucks!

Its not fake news I think you're just not looking at the whole picture and relying on anecdotal experience.

I was in fleet sales for an automotive group that had both Ford and Mercedes (although I was mostly at Toyota), our Mercedes store lost a TON of business after Sprinters had to add DEF systems to their diesel engines.

This wasn't based on opinions or preferences it was based on cold hard #s and $. Sprinter's used to go to 500k miles effortlessly with very few surprises, yet all of our commercial accounts began switching to gas Ford Transits and Dodge ProMasters because the fleet managers saw the insane amount of $ they now had to spend to keep these new Sprinters running. Between 100-200k miles the vast majority of them had multiple failures of sensors, EGR valves, multiple CATs, and entire DEF system replacements. Ask any Mercedes service writer and they'll tell you they make a lot more $ on the modern Sprinters than on the old ones....

Even on the surface its silly to think you can add a complex system of pumps, sensors, cats and filters and think it would have zero effect on reliability, the more you have that can go wrong WILL go wrong, its the basic principle of Murphy's law which although commonly misunderstood is actually an engineering principle.

Because some new Tacoma owners are emotionally invested in they purchase and don’t want to hear that it sucks or there may be a better option on the horizon

You're so negative. Constantly. If you hate your truck that much. Sell it. Life's too short man.

Never a good idea to become emotionally invested in a mechanical device......imo.

My truck takes me where I need to go, and then takes me back home.

Guess I am just one of the lucky ones ....

So here’s an idea for you boss, you stick to the happy threads and let those of us with issues vent and discuss our negatives. I won’t show up on your Tacoma utopia discussion and you don’t come try to pour koolaid all up on the critical threads.

The thing is is that you don't offer actual criticism, you just show up to constantly whine, pity yourself and spread your toxic negativity.

If it was really just about the tacoma you would've sold it and moved on long ago. You either want to be depressed or you're using TW as a cathartic distraction to whatever it is in your life thats made you this way... No otherwise healthy individual would dedicate as much time as you do to a stupid truck that they supposedly hate.

I'm totally emotionally invested in one of my two vehicles. My Cayman GTS. My Taco??? Yes, I really like it and enjoy taking care of it and doing small modifications. As you say, it's mostly an appliance for me but I do take care of it. The Cayman on the other hand? It's a pure joy to drive and helps me decompress. It's a give and take relationship. I take care of it, and it gives me pleasure. How can I not be emotionally invested?

You post more than I do and I spend quite a bit of time here because I actually enjoy it. Can't imagine being so miserable I spend even MORE time than I already do on something I supposedly hate :/

You need to find a hobby or adopt a dog or something lol
