you boys should see what I'm welding now.....
Pics coming soon, just need to get a 2" metal hole saw ( shaft on my "mastercrap" set was bent causing the hole saw to weeble wobble way too much )

on the bender side of stuff, bought some 2" .120 wall DOM from Metals 'R' Us then ran it over to the boys at Venture to give it a 180 degree bend with a 7" radius. Tomorrow I'm going to see how much those plates are gonna cost to plasma cut for the "filler"
then its off to the races!

but the thing that put a HUGE smile on my face was getting a lawyer to sign off on my Missing Motorcycle Ownership form that the DMV needs . Major shout out to Craig Arsenault From Landry McGillivray Law on Ochterloney Street here in Dartmouth. Tomorrow I'm going to try the DMV and see where I get with them.

    BIG NEWS!
I got the title for my bike yesterday :woot:

Thankfully it looks a *little* better now, this pic is from 5 years ago. it has a motor now ;)

its now 100% without a doubt mine. Now I can finish it off and drive it to the coffee meets, or you know, put it in the back since she's so small ( just might do that now for the LOL's )

Did you buy the metal yet? have the exact specs of the parts you need? I can probably do it for you. Give me the exact dimensions of the parts and ill make a test one if you want

no metal has been purchased, and that screen cap is from Fusion 360, all the parts are already drawn up in CAD and saved as a DXF file ready for cutting. did you want me to post up one of my files to see if there is any major compatibility issues? I could get you the measurments, but as I did it up in Fusion, I sorta let it handle the math.

I'm going to post this next question some where else on the forum, but anyone know if holes VS Slots would be better for welding plates together?
see the pictures below, I was thinking about how to "join" the plates together since I don't want to weld around the edges ( I need those flat and clean for other parts of the die )

    idea #1)
    alternating slots
Slots would be 1/2 wide, and would alternate between one and two slots per plate ( lets call them plates )

    idea #2)
    alternating holes.
    y_BuVpPJW8SE212xt2jEo7mAC10-JvV-0ekJfZuM_e181c45c8e7dbfb6652f9ccefacd8ada47cf7365.jpg

    idea #3)
    Bolts
just have some through holes, and use some big nuts and bolts to hold the stuff together.

I have a tendency to over complicate things, so before making way too much work for myself Figured I'd ask and see what the general consensus was.

Cut slots and weld? Cut holes and weld? or just bolt it.

If it isn't going to be under huge loads a few plug welds will probably be more than enough to hold the die together. Only reason I would weld vs bolt in this instance would be clearance with whatever tool you would use them in. A weld can be ground flush if needed. And a slot is a larger weld which would require and introduce more heat into the part which would allow for more warping.

I never tried to copy a file and use it before. But I have a program that I can draw anything out on though. What's the idea you have? If I have scrap metal here I can try one for you like I said

Lmao I never noticed the white text till it was quoted , nah I was just passing on the info that I found it I believe it was a 17footer a little much for a coma I think

I’m hoping I can find a enclosed trailer soon or I won’t be able to bring my bike here to plow my drive way ,
It’s not that bad here now that school started again but still your gotta pretty much hang your lawn mowers in trees and pad lock them even shovels a year ago I left my shovel outside over the winter and it got stolen

Over this past summer I had a pair a boots I mow the lawn with they where falling apart and pretty well garbage for shits and giggles I spray painted them and left them on my porch for days one day I went to the store to get a pack of smokes and I seen a pair of spray painted boots on the side of the road and I thought gee those look like my boots and sure enough when I got home mine were gone

    Good news for today!
LBJ is out! the pipe I was talking about a few weeks ago worked like a champ!
    hfjI___xEgFRGh5wAYJ5JTUuqJ9VgKoRgVAP9rE__77b8e4ee448116b4aae7485976b68af8b9a2a5ac.jpg

Very little drama getting it out, and the new one back in.

on another note, what do you do when the shaft your hole saw attaches to is crooked from the factory and wobbles like crazy?
you nab a bolt from the bolt's bin and weld it on (don't look too hard at the welds, they did the job )

    87qUxaeDSyPuStnUp-RrJC49Wgv3el3szjz6OtkV_a910f1cbffbb09a46a900417dafb85f31ce484c1.jpg

Works like a champ! I just need more bolts for the rest of my set...:annoyed:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope it's filled with loved ones and great food (Same goes if you had it earlier in the weekend too)

Place I work at got robbed last fall, and it was suspected it was a group that came down from NB. Apparently they rob a couple spots then go to NB to sell, rob spots up there and come here and repeat
