Geico quoted me two grand a year! Seemed pretty high. Only 700 a year for my BMW 650 X Country.
    Yamaha MT-09 this time.

62 years old. No accidents. No tickets in a few years. Have been riding forever. Geico insured my last bike, a BMW X-Country, 650 single. Now I just bought a Yamaha MT-09.

Statefarm. Been using them since the beginning of time for all my insurance. They've never raised rates on me, in fact I've had them decrease randomly without asking. I've heard other companies quote you a low rate then raise it a year or two later, just because.

Thanks for your service USAA members!
For us Civilians I used both Pacific Specialty Insurance and currently with Farmers. Thank goodness I haven’t used Famers yet but have made two claims with PS insurance and had pleasant experience with both. I would recommend both .

    It's complicated.
Having previously used GEICO--check your policy, frequently! Geico has a habit of dropping the collision/comprehensive coverage without being asked to, or getting permission, or even notifying the policy holder. I had it happen to me, approx 4 years ago, and numerous friends have since discovered that their C/C coverages had been dropped--unbeknownst to them.

I first heard about this from a friend who forwarded a link from the advrider site; members there were reporting that geico had dropped parts of their motorcycle coverage, without the policy holder knowing.

Also, geico does NOT cover motorcycle protective gear, except in *some* states, up to $200-$300 for a helmet.

I pay about $900 a year through Geico. I’m 40 years old with a clean record since 2003 or so. My truck was recently totaled from driving through flood water. It’s a 2014 4x4 that I paid $36k for new. 5 years later insurance paid me $30k to total it and sold it back to me for $9k. I dried it out and still drive it daily. I have zero complaints about Geico.
