Well I ran into a unique issue today in the truck. The key became stuck in the ignition. It seemed like the safety to prevent the key from coming out if not in Park first. Removing this solenoid disconnected the safety feature and pulled the key right out. Time for more investigation on the root cause.

Exactly what I was thinking. It has been sitting for awhile!

Thanks, I will give that go. Just glad it happened in my driveway and not at work.

Manual tranny FTW :D I have a unique key situation too. My key is worn out just enough that even with the truck running, I can take it out of the ignition. It’s annoying and handy at the same time.

Auto problems for sure! For now I am just zip tieing that box out of the way. The key still stays locked into place when in the ON position, but will come out if I leave it in Drive with the key off. So not a bad trade off.

Gotta love older vehicles and their quirks, that's for sure.

Easier to diagnose than all these integrated new ones.

This that and the other thing.
my old Jimmy wouldn't let me pull the key out at all, I had to take a screw out that holds the bottom plastic piece in place, jam a pen into the hole which pushed on some button which then let me take the key out lol so I always had a key in the centre console

In my old chevy cheyenne i could take the key off the ignition while driving, like Randy. It was good for heating up the truck in winter and go back inside with the keys to lock the door when leaving lol the door locked was also fucked so I pulled it out and took all the little teeth out so i can unlock it again, with anything  but nobody knew so it was "safe"

I think this one carries Ninjas! Or TMNT's !!!!!!

They are gearing up for Fleet Week down here. I think the rest of the ships arrive through the night. The Blue Angles will be flying tomorrow. Shit will be so freaking loud!!!!!! No work will get done.

My new DD has been delivered!:yay:

Now time to put pressur to have it as soon as possible! I wanted to put my tools in it today after work but I got stopped lol it has to be lettered and rust proof treated before I sit behind the wheel. And they want to get winter tires for it also.

Tomorrow I'll let the shop manager know that this van has to be on top of his priority list. I've been waiting long enough, I wont be looking at it in the shop yard for a month!

It's a one way street too. Red Chrysler didn't get the memo.
