Then I'll just shut up and sit down and see what other MT '19s come up as I guess cause that don't seem logical.
...but a lot of things from Toyota don't seem logical

Hahaha! @Ruggybuggy needs to toss ". . . and BS Thread" on the title.

    It's all good.

And, I had an error in the post above. It should have been 04A70 / 04A71. So, more confusion in the bunch!

Yeah sorry getting a bit OT there. =) @shakerhood I'll PM you when I get a chance to check on the cubby.

Getting back on topic... Will be interested what others with '19s have to see if they are the same or different from mine. Since they just started making them, I'd assume the same.

I don't mind and really like the cubbies. I added @micwillia 's cubbie covers to seal them and installed some cam locks from Lowes. The left one has a 30ft recovery strap and shackles in it. The other has three ratchet straps. Pretty useful, IMHO.

That is the same one I keep rope and straps in also, would be kind of a bummer if gone.

Since there was interest from someone else as well, I'll post an off topic update here...

Got a chance to go out and look and @shakerhood is right. They apparently took out the driver's side cubby. Anyone know why? Seems very strange to just suddenly remove that and I can't think of anything they've added that needed to go there instead.

Attaching pic and also another one of the Taco with the Pro wheels (blacking out the badges and grille bezel next job to do).

So an update, I brought the truck in on 10/1 as the dealership wanted to verify the problem and see if there was anything they could do. They ended up contacting Toyota, who approved a modified version of software update T-SB-0058-18. While it still has a bit of a stumble in 2nd, it does seem like a noticeable difference during the 30 mile drive home. Throttle response is better, and seemed much easier to drive without being quite so digital. I will drive for a few days to and report back if I feel any differently, but so far it seems like an improvement. I strongly recommend pushing the issue if you have an 18 model, as it at least seems like Toyota is listening...

I highly doubt it since the 2018 has the TSS and the Cubbie.

Wow! That is really odd that they deleted the cubbie. You can easily look up under there to see if the space was used by something else.

There is a vendor that makes a deep bin out of steel that goes there if you are adventurous.

Thanks for checking a posting pics, really bizarre that they did away with it, guess that is Kiazen at it's finest. When we did that shit at work we had to find ways to reduce cycle time and eliminate as many things as possible.

But, but, but. . . That cubbie has been there since 2005. It probably cost more to study it and rework the proc. . . Nevermind! o_O

Actually the bed changed somewhere along the way previously too. My 2008 had these little open boxes above the wheel wells that my 2015 and 2017 did not.

Yeah. I've seen those nice little pockets. Taking useful storage away is not cool.

Well after the kids went to bed I went back out there and crawled under and looked. Well... there's nothing there. Just empty space. Not sure why they took that cubby away. I didn't have any great plans for it, but still disappointing.

Brought the truck in with the new TSB they did it without question. I do notice it shifts nicer between 1st and 2nd. Can’t say it’s dramatically a different truck like some claim but I have not gotten a chance to drive it a ton yet. It does feel different just not sure how much different.

Learning mode seems to have kicked in and has dulled some of my initial improvements I have found. I am sure the truck is still better since the update, but it's not as obvious now.

So, I did what any man would do.... I put 33'' mud terrains on it... if you cant hear and it vibrates to hell, you wont notice other problems (like the failing throw out bearing)

I'm only about 1/3 of the way through a tank of 91. I'm not impressed. It is noticeably smoother so far, but it feels less perky and MPGs are down. I'm struggling to keep it near 20mpg. I think l like the roughness with the increased response (almost sharpness) of 87.

We'll see what happens for the rest of the tank, but it might be hard to try a second one.

So I am taking the truck in on Monday for the clutch parts and AC blower recall. The parts are in so I am gonna bring it in. I think they are replacing like 3 parts for the clutch like master cylinder etc. I mentioned about the update again and told them we are doing a ride along this time and I told them I have the TSB’s with me to look over if need be.

Never got the letter, but I'm due for the blower fan thing. I'm going to ask if they'll do the TSB, and just say straight up I want the ECU reprogram. Don't have time for fuckin ride-alongs and trying to prove engine idle surge with steering input, or whatever. Has anyone confirmed T-SB-025-18 contains the better tune?
