    Do you have a spot welder? You can bandaid with some sheet metal til you fab something stout and permanent...

    As a template I trust. Otherwise it too will be twisted into scrap. Bigger problem is if you beef that up, where will the flex erupt next? Frame stiffeners and bucket brackets.

    I have the same deal, bad but not as bad. Enough to raise concern tho..

    Thoughts of exact cause? I think mine is from stuffing the front tire up in the wheel well enough to push (twist) the support.

    Very interested in your fix.... :popcorn:

    My core support starting cracking back when I was on 33s. I am thinking the main cause is frame twist when flexing. The cab moves with the mid-section of the frame, and the core support stays with the front frame horns. They only place betwixt the two is around the headlights where it is weak, hence that is where it cracks.
    I have some definite rubbage now with the 35s, and I am sure that is contributing to the problem.
    Also quite a while back I swapped to poly bushings for the core support due to the rubber ones being fuckered. Since poly is a higher durometer than rubber now the core support is even more solidly affixed to the front frame rails further exacerbating the issue.

    Definitley notch out to prevent further cracking.

    Then either plate and spot weld (sandwhich both sides). Or try a junkyard, cut out that area, weld it on the back side to keep oem shape, then plate the front section.

    I need to repair/replace my core support too. Not sure if my passenger side is affected. I know my driver side is fucked up, but I thought battery weight (group 31) was causing that

    Being that my passenger side is worse, I don't think the battery weight has much to do with it. More than likely there are a few factors contributing to it.
    The extra length in the wheelbase certainly isn't helping us compared to the short bed guys

    Cause most of them are in the junk yard...
    I’ve had a group 31 most of my trucks life and my tears are larger on the passenger side. Also if it was a weight issue I feel it would cause the tears to start at the top because the weight would be pushing down. Or if the damage was at the bottom it would be more of a kink or fold. That’s why I believe these tears are caused by stuffing tires and/or body flex

    Mines not a trail raisin but I’ve got a few scars... as for the core support & such, I believe I’m still pretty straight there.
    I’ve had the hood aligned a couple times by my body shop guys but that’s only because of the front end swap.
