My dad was allowed to choose any car made by Toyota to use as his company issued work vehicle, since Toyota was his client. The two other guys he worked with chose a Geo Metro, and he chose the Tacoma because he did some occasional contracting work. Now my father is a simple man. The Fremont dealership was ready to offer a 1998 Limited 4x4 v6 WITH the sunroof. But then he said 'I don't need all that, give me the cheapest truck you have'.

And that's how we ended up with a base model PreRunner. Only reason he didn't get the single cab 5-lug is because he liked the wheels on the PreRunner better, and the PreRunner was already in the lot.

Kind of a blessing in disguise. I got to add power windows, locks, and mirrors myself as well as convert it to 4x4 twenty years later.

Oh stop complaining. You have a Limited. Pre-2000 Limited trucks are rare enough.

Huh, you know I always am able to break crank pulley bolts loose by hand but this time the z was just moving when I tried so I used the starter and my breaker bar and popped right loose. Very happy. Now I gotta use the puller to get it off, crank pulley bolt was a 27mm and it is specially designed to have a puller seat in the center of it for this purpose so you don't chowder your crank up

    Same thing.

SR5 means nothing. I've seen SR5's with no AC, to SR5's with full power options and a sunroof.

Don't you have that same map light console?

It's for switching between the map and dome lights going on/off with the door.
