Check to see if it's venting from the Regulator. Could be a blown diaphragm.

Get the gas company out as soon as you can. If you SMELL gas, not a good thing. Our yard was tagged so many times last year, even before the trees getting cut. They were looking for a leak, and never found it. I HATE rust on gas fittings, but they don't seem to care.
    CALL THEM. It's free.

Oh I called as soon as I saw readings and shut valve. Then I joined dogs and wife out back.

Nebraskans smart! Except for emulating TX football from 2 years ago..... The last guy who tagged the lines from the Gas Co. ( not USICS) got out a sniff tool and went from both adjoining yards, and then up past the tree I demolished to the regulator. He found nothing. So I felt a lot better about the "leak" they can't find. At least it's not IN the house.

Back home we used to hit gas before we hit water. 60ft or so in places. If you had a gas water heater in the basement you couldn't get insurance. Cracks in basement walls would allow raw (no smell) gas in if doors and windows were closed for an extended time. Then enough accumulation & BOOM. Long weekends were the worse. Some Folks would come home to nothing but splinters.

Did you work for USICS? As a retired guy that likes to drive around in a truck, and they say you can "select" your work.... I looked at them even before I got retired. (I got pissed off one night, and …..)
