..and I'm glad Mat is doing some testing with completely stock trucks. I'd bet a large percentage of ppl who are tuned are not running oversized tires and a ton of extra weight.

 

Shouldn't matter, even if it were a smaller percentage. The tune should be developed with the assumption that the buyer has a stock truck. People with mods can use custom tuning because not everyone has the same aftermarket parts and they introduce too many variables since the tune ends up feeling incredibly different to people with stock parts vs giant tires and lifts and gearing, etc. Which is why we ran into all that mess between 1.03 and 1.03B/C lol

I'm going to say I'm pretty sure he'd pull less money than he does now lol granted, this screenshot just says Director, not what it's a director of...but still...

I haven't checked up on how many 3.5L Tacoma tune kit orders he's at, but last i checked a few months ago, he was at around 2915 based off of screenshots people were posting of their orders. Assuming that people have purchased the tune since then and going off of how often people post about buying the tune both here and in various FB groups, let's assume he's sold 3100 kits perhaps.

Some quick bar table napkin math. At 3100 x 770, you get 2,387,000$. We already know that the tactrix cable costs $169 from the manufacturer. 3100 x 170 = 527k, and when subtracted from the first total gives us 1,860,000$.

We could talk about cost of R&D from there but those are wild guesses at that point, based on how much he pays to register the truck he uses, gas for the truck to test various octanes, etc, and ultimately doesn't matter much since it's coming out of his pocket when he has that money and then shells it out to further the tune's development, pay bills at whatever location he's got now, things like that. Cost of what the tune itself costs probably doesn't need subtracting when you consider we're paying him, he's not a third party vendor selling someone else's tune. And if you combine his own personal capital with that of his business using the numbers above, it keeps it simple.

Remember, the Tacoma isn't the only vehicle he tunes either. And there's plans for his expansion into other platforms. And he frequently has gone overseas to tune F1 cars iirc lol

EDIT** and yes, you could say he could be director while still tuning, but i would just assume that he wouldn't have that kind of time available to him, especially not when he's got enough people already whining about his timetables for the development and release of updates for just THIS platform lol delaying it further for a second job would create chaos with half the people on this thread

Convert from a concealed carry to open carry? hahaha Here in AL we just open carry and have to have a license to conceal.

 

In Texas, we can get a License To Carry and can then choose to do either or. No constitutional carry of either kind
