Here's all I've got for drama. Reasons Nashville > Somerville:

    - It's still mid to high 80s in October.
    - Jack and Coke is $7 max.
    - Cheap beer is about $2.
    - No one has mentioned hockey.
    - Tailgating gets crazy and usually involves moonshine.
    - They have real moonshine here.
    - No one know what any of these words mean: "Pats", "Dunks", "Wicked", "U-ey".

The drivers aren't any better here though. People from all over the country moved here, so bad driving habits from all over moved here too.

Also, the Johnny Cash Museum has a great little coffee shop and it is right down the street form my office.

I'm not huge into hockey but it's crazy they have a team, such a good one too. Seems like a waste.

You should totally use the phrase "bang a U-ey" when giving directions to someone just to see how they react haha

I've already confused the hell out of everyone with "Yeah I just moved down here from Boston" "...you don't sound like you're from Boston" "Yeah, I'm from Louisiana originally." "How the hell did you end up in Boston?"

Driver's rear brake exploded on the '84?

Took it to Home Depot this past weekend to pick up some 8-footers and on the way back I stepped on the brake pedal, heard a thump, and lost half of the pedal height. Still stopped fine, pedal was just riding lower. So I put it up on jackstands last night and pulled the drum. I'm not sure what the triggering effect was, but as near as I can tell the self-adjuster broke into its separate pieces and rattled around inside the drum until one of them (looks like the threaded section) jammed something, at which point a bunch of the hardware springs/pieces also broke/stretched/fell apart, the bars holding the shoes in place bent, and the wheel cylinder blew out (this moment was probably the 'thump' that I heard). So when I pulled the drum last night pretty much everything just sort of fell out onto the garage floor

Unfortunately, the fitting that bolts into the wheel cylinder was frozen in place and even after some serious heating it just rounded off, so I had to clip the line to get the damaged cylinder out, which means I'm also running a new length of brake line between the junction on the rear axle and the new wheel cylinder. On the 'good news' front, the drum appears to be completely undamaged and I've already got spare brake line & fittings kicking around from when I replaced the brake lines on the '69 two summers ago. :notsure:

Get 'em on Amazon for the 2 pack deal. Save quite a bit of money that way, damn things aren't cheap.

Nice, could have been worse! I'm due to replace my drums (and front discs too actually) soon. Was waiting on a friend to loan me a driveway but things keep falling through so I guess I'm stuck to the dirt/cardboard.

Ask 'em if they want anything at the "packy". That can even stump New Englanders!

I forgot about that one! Great idea. "Who wants to make a packy run?"

    Only kinda racist...

Yeah, could definitely have been worse. Plus I can replace literally everything in the drum for about $50 from Napa, so it's not a huge loss. Just annoying. I'm getting ready to sell it so I wasn't really looking to put more $$ into it first.

I'd offer my garage, but I suspect it's a haul for you
