USA Today ranked them one of the top 18 Pie Shops in the US. And Several other places around the Country has too. I would not disagree been too long since I have been there.

The Stockholm Pie and General Store
    N2030 Spring Street
    Stockholm, Wisconsin, 54769

And now it looks like they have a shop in Red Wing on this side of the River too, that is new.

Oh I know, I wish there was a happy medium. While some states are soaked through we are lucky to see a few drops.

Weirdly subjective ranking AND a pretty random number... still, I usually get dragged into reading those "Best of" lists too.

    TL;DR

Reminds me of an ex who ranked things like that. My favorite was her list of "top pastry shops in the city." She very specifically listed name and address of #1, #2, #3, and #5. When I asked her, "Which one is #4?" She replied, "There is no #4." o_O

Yes, this type of thing helps explain the "ex" status.

I think Wisconsin has 1 White Castle in Kenosha and that's a 2 hour drive.

Stockholm, Wi. is a town of 66 people along the Upper Mississippi River in the middle of no where. Which explains why it is a pie shop and general store. First time there I met a guy from Chicago that said he woke up and decided he wanted some pie and rode his bike 7 hours to get some at his favorite place. I've met people from both the East and West coast that have heard about it from word of mouth.

There are no bridges crossing the River near Stockholm so people drive across it once it freezes up. Few years ago a guy in a brand new pickup was on the ice road coming back from Stockholm and his truck went through the ice. Lost his truck but he saved the pie LOL.

Don't think there is another pie shop anywhere like it. In essence it is Stockholm, Wi.

Damn people they come from everywhere to go there. Not sure how the elderly lady that makes the pies there can handle another store in Red Wing too would hope she trained someone well. Might have to find out soon!
