Unless it's the Diesel and gets Colorado Diesel mileage.. I had a coworker averaging 28-30 in the Colorado.. more range than a Taco with less capacity

Been doing this wheeling this long enough now. Toyotas and Jeeps on the trails. Hardly a Ranger, Raptor, Silverado, Colorado ever in sight. Hmmmmm. Good amount of old Yota's out there, same with Rangers. I only implore one to keep note of which vehicle they see on the side of the road/highway more.

It's sad the state of the auto industry in general. Mostly junk. A shame no one is actually interested in making anything of true quality anymore. Tesla is pretty cool, but they are apparently trying to run Musk off. Knew it wouldn't be long before the petrol auto sector had enough of him.

For me, it's mostly vehicles that clearly aren't maintained. Brand isn't a deciding factor.

I have a Pro on order, but tried to build something similar, Lariat with off-road options. Bang & Olufsen definitely better than JBL, same brand as what Mercedes-Benz offers. LED headlights are better than our halogen. Power folding mirrors and seat would be nice too. Came in 2k less than Pro, but no Fox suspension, catback exhaust, power rear window, laser cruise control and sunroof. Trade offs on both, but sticking to the Pro for reliability, resale and better looks, IMO. But nice truck! Raptor might be a different story, but with a price tag too!

The Ranger's design dates back to 1993, so it's closer to a 1st gen Taco. 2nd gen Taco has more non-structural plastic bits in front that can break in a collision.

Damn, looks like the US Ranger lacks the A-pillar grab handle on the driver's side, while foreign-market models keep it.

Yeah. That's what I see out on the trails too.

Tacomas, Jeeps, 4Runners, and the odd landcruiser (usually a very old Landcruiser). However, I live in California. I am sure there is more variety out in the mid-west.

Jeep admitted the Scrambler will be limited in production numbers and more of a speciality vehicle. I bet it pushes $60k+. Current nicely equipped JLU Rubicon's are $50k+ At that price point many will look elsewhere.

The only numbers I have seen was the towing at 7500 pounds, curious of what the MPG rating will be.

They are supposed to be making a Dodge Dakota again using the underpinnings of that Jeep so I would imagine that having a lower price.

The Dakota is a go and will be made alongside of the Jeep truck. I agree it’ll be at a lower price point.

The old dakotas weren't exactly quality, I'd go with a colorado before a dakota.

Isn't the Dakota, Toyota's inspiration to name their U.S. midsize pick up the Tacoma?

The Dakota was the first "mid-size" truck.

Back when the Toyota, Datsun, Ford Ranger, Chevy S-10 were "compact".

For the record, I had a 97 Dakota V6 5 speed MT- that truck was a champ.

I think they also made a convertible. A gal in town has one, never seen another so maybe it was custom.
