Yup always been there. I know it’s a damage multiplier, but I love how it looks.

I have a Relentless Fab Predator bumper for the truck, just haven’t gotten around to welding it together yet.

Wow really? I have never met anyone around here that likes brush guards or bull bars. I mean I do see them on trucks around here but everyone I know hates them, myself included. We take em off & give em to the metal scrap guys.

My father had brush guards put on front & rear on my Mom's old QX4 thinking it would protect the vehicle from my Mom's "questionable" driving sometimes. Well she hit a tree one day & that brush guard ended up causing way more damage than if it didn't have one. Ended up being totalled.

But whatever, if you like it that's all that matters & I respect that.

Trust me it’s temporary. This is what’s going on when I get to welding it together.

Yeah, the one he pictured isn't even a filter. It's a water seperator. It gets some of it out, but nowhere near all. I hae a couple disposables I place on my line to get everything out , and a motorguard I need to plumb in to the main lines along the walls if I ever get around to installing them.

I tried welding it together one day and discovered I’m not very good at welding.

I think the evidence speaks for itself. Go ahead, roast me all you want. I’m not putting it together until I get better at laying beads.

What process was this, and on what kind of metal? Almost looks like AL, with no gas.

In which case, I have no room to speak, as I can't weld aluminum at all.

It's 3/16 steel and he is using standard Mig with .030 wire and 75/25 mix

I just think he moves around too fast and doesn't let the welder do it's job.

The nice pretty bead was I believe TIG welded by Relentless Fabrication, it's all Steel. I can barely weld Steel, let alone weld with a spool gun on Aluminum. The ugly bead on the bumper, and the mediocre beads on my seat rails were done by me with my Lincoln MIG using C25 shielding gas and .30 MIG wire. My Lincoln wasn't powerful enough to weld 3/16ths steel, which is a reason why the weld is so ugly. No penetration. That's why I bought a Miller 180.

It just wasn't penetrating at all. My old Lincoln wasn't powerful enough to do 3/16.

Pretty much any welder can do 3/16, just gotta crank it, set your wire speed and as any welding instructor will bark at you...SLOW THE FUCK DOWN

Trust me my old Lincoln couldn't weld 3/16. It was only spec'd to go up to 1/8.

It was an econobox from Home Depot that did 88 Amps, your power setting is either 1 or 2.

I'm actually going for the 1985 Pickup look from the movie. I have a rollbar off a 1985 Pickup sitting in my backyard. Just waiting to get it sandblasted, that Chrome is fugly.

If I could do it with my 90A HF unit that Lincoln could too. I've actually used that welder, either way even horribly underpowered you'd get a better bead than that.
