you guys with the 6" lifts...did you go entry level or performance kits with the coil overs?

Does it matter for a truck that will see minimal offroad time? Its 2wd 4cyl so light trailwork will be all it can handle.

I just want the lift, shocks, steering, etc to last a long time, for the life of the truck...

I say just go with the stage I or basic kit... no need for the upgraded coilovers and rear shocks if it will only see minimal offroad time... im sure many will disagree with me but its really not practical if you dont need it... but then again... look at my truck... :D

yea i defiinitely have to agree with this... everyone is always bitching about me "needing" to re gear w/ 35's when none of them even have 35's... I understand that it is "better" for me to regear... but its not "NEEDED"... dad's old Tacoma was pushing 35's with over 100,000 miles no tranny problems what so ever. V6 definitely helps

The funny thing is when I am alone in my truck (90% of the time) my truck doesnt rub when reversing and turning the wheel, but when I have ppl. in the truck(weight) the damn tire always rubs against the back of the fender flare. It bother the hell out of me, but I havent done shit about it yet.

    nothing yet!
I come to this thread everyday to see if there is more pics. I so badly want to get a 6 inch lift. Seems as if I were to go with a 3 inch, I would be upset with myself. Now...to start playing the lotto.

you can try to stuff 35 on a 3 inch lift but with alot of rubbing. 4.5 inch to 6 inch lift you can stuff 35's easy.

well my lift costed 2600 bucks alone and the tires and rims were 1800. you could problaly do it for 2000 grand for the lift and 35's.

Go with spindles and it'll be a lot cheaper. You get 4'' of lift from the spindles and you can get up to 2.5'' of lift from the Bilstein front shocks combined.

    Camburg ext. Brake lines $90
    Rear 1’’ block $75
    Toytec AAL 2” $80
    Bilstein F&R shocks $300
    Camburg Spindles $1,000

And you are set with that since you're a prerunner.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
unless those have some HUGE sidebitters, more so than my mickey thompson baja claws, the 12.5 is 12.5. they're usually within .25" of the sizing when looking at inches. my 315/75/16s are 34.8x12.5, but everone calls them 35s
