My passenger side window is not working. I used to get behind the door panel and wiggle some wires around, and it would work again for like a month. That technique is no longer working, and my window is stuck down by about an inch. Is there a way for me to lift the glass and track by hand once I'm inside of the door panel, so that I can close the window until I get it repaired?

    Thanks!

Depends on why it's not working.

All you can do it try it and see.

A friend had a rear door window in another marquee do that once, only more than an inch. I was able to lift it, but it wouldn't stay. So I cut a piece of PVC to prop the window track up and disconnected the harness from the motor. They drove it a few years like that before trading. Bet someone was surprised if they went to do a repair!

    Not really

You have to separate the glass from the regulator or separate the regulator from the motor to allow the window to move up/down.

Once you get the door panel off use a power probe to put the window up. You most likely have a broken wire in The door jamb. If you dont have a power probe get a long piece of wire and run it from the battery. But be careful not to apply power to a ground wire

Have you ruled out the child window lock button on the driver switch panel? Try bypassing that if you haven’t already?

    Same crap everyone else got
If your motor is still working but not getting power to it, you can jump the wires with a power source and wire (jump box) and make it go up and down. Once you get up to go up all the way, just put everything back together until you can find the source of your issue. I did this with a honda accord.

I remember an old co worker of mine had an old gmc truck with power windows. He ran wiring through the door panel to a car battery he left on the floor board to raise and lower the window. Creative

I would have just used a connection from the cigarette lighter socket. More foot room that way. :)

That requires work. Most mechanics don’t feel like working on their own cars after a long day of fixing everybody else’s shit. (Sometimes for free)

Take the door panel off, unplug the motor from the door harness, and apply 12v and Ground to the two terminals for the motor. Reverse polarity to raise or lower the window.
