A coworker of mine had a Dakota "convertible".

A cool concept but not practical for a truck.

I see Jeep Kaiser pickup trucks on Craigslist from time to time.

Wouldn't mind having one of those.

Yea, I liked my last Ford but reliability has been sketchy since that 98 powerstroke. It was a hell of a truck but too many issues recent models.

Hope they kept that roll over cutout switch. The one that stalls the Truck every time you hit a pothole.

Exterior looks good to me but the interior is pretty bad in my opinion

They should have called it the Ford F100 , so it added to the f series sales record lol.
They used to have a F100 years ago .

The vehicle I learned to drive on years ago was an old, beat up Ranger with the absolutely lethargic 3.0L Vulcan V6.

Cool to see some modern engine tech here, and the exterior styling is pretty good. That dash and center stack in the interior look too much like a fleet-order/rental Fusion or Focus to me, though.

I’m sure they’ll sell tens of thousands of these.

Hopefully those tens of thousands of customers will add an extended warranty on top, they will be needing it!!

^Come to think of it, are Ford extended warranties as much of a ripoff as Toyota extended warranties?
Time will tell. Ford will probably give it a plastic oilpan like they did with a few other engines.
Someone at Ford probably thought Ranger had more brand recognition than F100.

I'll be ordering one of the first raptor rangers whenever they are announced. Just looking at the specs for the world version it sure as hell beats a TRD PRO and sounds like pricing is similar. I had an 01 and 03 ranger in high school, both were solid trucks, besides idler pulley going out at 60k, never an issue, Dad still uses my 01 with 198k as a farm truck.
