    I tried to remove the screw on my 2016 and it was on there tight and stripped it.

    does anyone know the tread pitch on the screw so I can get another ?

    Impact driver with a #3 Phillips bit and the screw came right out, no damage.

    What year was your truck?

    I used the #3 as well and did it by hand and the screw started stripping.

    M6 1.0. I upgraded to stainless. I also used a #2 Phillips. It fit the best. Took some serious oomph.

    Some poor guy somewhere pushed so hard on the screw that holds this in place he dented the SHIT out of his fuel door .

    How is that even possible? I had an easy time getting mine out. It was a little difficult to get the screw to set but I was in a hurry and wasn’t paying attention.

    I’ve been in contact via email with this customer.(I assume the same person as Facebook since this is a rare case) I have Sold 1000+ Gassholes and this is literally the first time I have ever seen this happen.

    Turns out an impact driver was used to reinstall the screw which broke the welded nut on the backside and pushing it into the exterior lid skin.

    This is not rocket science guys, just use a hand screwdriver and reinstall the screw until snug. It’s not a critical body component and just needs to hold the fuel door clip in.
