I was the exact same position in a 3 car accident years ago. The driver of the vehicle to start the chain was responsible. I dealt through his insurance. I couldn't tell you the insurance agency of the vehicle that actually hit me.

Really? That is crazy. I would be pretty angry if someone slammed into me that pushed me into someone else and I was held responsible. How do they determine how much room you need to leave? Do you have to calculate how far a 2 ton truck would push you traveling at 60 mph?

Your frame is totalled, insurance will maybe fix the truck due too it being new. That Ford hit the GMC HARD,and your ball hitch did the damage too your truck by leverage,NEVER leave your ball hitch on when not being used,Tacomas have very cheap thin frames.

You needed pictures of the frame itself, not the hitch receiver.

    Regardless, go after diminished value.

Count me in the boat to push for a total. Nobody wants a repaired frame.

I was the middle car in an accident like this last year. Vehicle in the back pushed me into the one in front of me. Last vehicle was responsible for all 3.

How hard do you hold your brake at a light? Are you expecting to get hit at 45 mph by someone who didn’t even attempt to brake? She bounced off us so far she was at a 45 degree angle in a different lane. It made our vehicle feel like it bounced also. It was explained to us here in Florida that as long as we were stopped safely it doesn’t matter how far back we were. Following too closely laws are written for vehicles in motion, not stopped.

The vehicle that caused the accident is the responsible party for all others. Her insurance admitted fault for us and paid out, I never heard anything from the girl in front of us, I’m sure they paid her out with no issue as well.

That Tacoma looks like a bent frame but I’m no expert. But I’m sure that Ford is who will need to pay out if he pushed the gmc into the Taco, unless the GMC hit first and then Ford hit second.

Bet the Ford dont have enough coverage too cover the Taco and GMC,which if totalled would be around $90,000 for both trucks, not including the Ford itself.

That doesn’t make it the GMCs insurance responsibility then, that’s for your own insurance cover and they will recoup by suing the Ford owner or insurance company for as long as you carry uninsured motorist coverage, which is required where I am and stupid imo not to have.

When my 2000 Tacoma got crashed the Frame was all mangled up, the insurance company repaired my truck and it never drove the same.

This is not true. I was middle vehicle in a 3 car crash in Austin. I was stopped as was the vehicle in front of me. I was rear-ended and hit the vehicle in front of me. Girl that rear-ended me paid for it all.

I was told by the officer if I had still been "rolling to a stop" then I would have been at fault. But being I was stopped the damage to the front vehicle was not my fault.
