Torque converter is locked up keeping heat down and the engine in it's powerband. These motors like to rev, they are not torque monsters.

I have a stock 2018 auto, 4X4 Off Road, how do I tell if it has the latest TSB?
We have 87, 89, and 93 octane available in Texas. I would be running 87 or 89
Do I need to find out what the TSB version in order to order the tuner?

You could ask the dealer if you have the latest tsb. Also there is no tune for 89 you would be running 87 or 93

Depending on when your truck was built will determine what ECU ID you have. It's most likely 04B60. There is a TSB that will update it to 04B61(TSB-0058-18 or TSB-0062-18) but that isn't necessary to install ovtune.

Just keep in mind that some of the dealers don't know what they're talking about. Had a dealer tell my buddy he was on the latest ECU. Got home, plugged in his OBD2 and sure enough he's several updates behind. He went back and they guy told him they had to confirm the issue before they could flash it. He went to a different dealer and the guy knew what he was talking about and flashed him to the latest ECU no problem, no questions asked.

Some of the service techs/managers are morons.

Just wanted to say thanks for your advice earlier. I found the file. For some reason it went in to my Techstream program files folder.

you could spend $15-20 and get a handheld obdII reader and check your Cal ID yourself

no on the TSB number, being an '18 you will have a cal ID newer than the early '16's that need the TSB to work with the 1.05

I hear you. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it won't be out till the end of the month. Matt has made a few comments about it, so that is what I am predicitind. Although, I hope I'm wrong.

I AM wondering though, if any 1.05 M/T testers have felt stuttering or a bog right around 2k RPM. SHould be easy to tune out, as it was with 1.03.

All I care about at this point is to have ecu/tcu learning not creep back up. Once it learns, the truck feels heavy and lame all over again

I immediately thought of you when Mat chimed in about how restrictive the stock exhaust is..

i have something to say about that if you're interested..

    i installed:
URD mk2 Y pipe, rear cats removed, and exhaust re route. still had the TRD muffler on.

after all that the throttle response loosened up, similar to the early days of the OV tune, not too much but noticeable.

then i got my Spintech muffler and Vibrant resonator, and removed the TRD muffler and installed those a few weeks later. and HOLY CRAP things opened up, throttle changed dramatically, and low and power response improved much much more than any of the previous exhaust changes did altogether.

it's the TRD muffler. it's restrictive, much more than i would have expected.
