Seems similar but my tires are slightly larger throwing it off. I have the hyper tech module. I just need to install it and I’ll have accurate numbers.

I just did 3” lift and 265/70/17 as well. Is the re gear worth it? I feel like mine just became a slug and made towing that much worse.

Yes. But....I had issues where the truck got confused at redline shift points between 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. That was the only down side.

Have you tried OVTune yet to see if it fixed that issue?

truck is sold. however, at the time he believed the ecu was getting confused. he said he was going to try and add something to allow for taller tires with adjusted gearing. no clue if that was ever done.

I ordered 5.29s and will be running 285/70/17 and a little bit of weight, I have heard 5.29's run great even with 33's and no weight.

regearing on 285's is a nice upgrade if you are running E rated and armor. It made a big difference or me. Went 4.56 on my 2nd gen (would go 4.88 as a 3rd gen) but just went to 315/70/17 (was cheaper per tire than the 35 equivalent) KM3's. the 4.56 are ok with the bigger tire but should have went 4.88 (5.29 if it was a 3rd gen). The other factor to think about is how heavy your rig is. If you are armored up and carry a tent, shell or gear all the time you are going to want to factor that in. If its light most of the time the lower gear ratio should be good. 4.88 vs 5.29 in your case.

yah it will run awesome but will prob see a hit in MPG and Speedo will be way off. Buddy just added 5.29's to h is 3rd gen with some weight and 285/75/17's. He loves it. Another buddy has it on his 3rd gen and is 1000 over stock and it was best add on he did to help.

They would void powertrain warranty with a lift and big tires anyways.

Just the posts i was looking for. Just went 285/75/16 KO2’s and was wondering if 5.29’s would be ideal with “33’s”
