Let’s talk Ranger. Not with hate and preconceived notions.. but with interest and acceptance - knowing that at nights end, your Tacoma will be in the driveway waiting for you.

 

It’s a phobia, an irrational fear. It’s not our fault. I KNOW that when I wake up, my tacoma will still be a Tacoma. But my fear of fears is that the more you toyota people like the ranger, that it might come true... I’ll wake up, and my tacoma will be a ranger. And I’ll get out of bed in jean shorts and a godsmack t shirt, and all I can think of is Burger King drive through and that juggalo girl I met. Nothing would be the same anymore.

I was in love once too.

 

I owned 5 Fords (cars, suv, and trucks) before coming to Toyota. Only one of those 5 was bought new, all others never gave me any trouble at all. 3 of them, including the 1992 F-150 still in my driveway had well over 100k miles and ran great.

From looking through these forums I could say the Tacoma is a POS with all the gremlins it still has in its third ear of the current generation. But I don’t, I won’t jusge the whole brand or model based on a few bad cars that leave the plant out of 100’s of thousands. Don’t be naive, Ford knows how to make good trucks. Numbers don’t lie

 

Is it a POS? Well, probably not, is it a Ford yes, yes it is a Ford.

Every manufacturer has issues, every model has issues... The Ranger Rapter looks great! Makes me want to get in one and jump it... For real though, I actually want to jump one.

Honestly, I would love to own a Rapter, (or maybe at some point even a Ranger Rapter) By the time they get here, I doubt they will hit the market under 50k 55-60 with options, you know with inflation and what not. I would give them a solid couple years to work out the kinks and then maybe take a look. By then my 2019 Tacoma will be 4 or 5 years old and I can probably trade it in!
