Interesting, I've never messed with domestic engines so no idea there.

Ah yes, repair stuff like that is an exception and again race design applications where abuse is subjected. But as far as normal fasteners that are meant to be removed eventually there's no need for red.

Right, but that's at a bench and not performing in the real world. I'm a proponent of OEM and I'm curious how the may differ actually being used and not just dissected.

I've never struggled to break lbj bolts free after using red loc tite, on the trail or the garage. I don't chase the the threads so they're likely dirty causing the loc tite not to adhere properly. To each there own. Being someone who has had the lbj bolt work out and shear two of them in the spindle, which would have left me stranded in BFE if I was solo. I'll choose the extra security or red.

I think it looks really good. Looks like you scored a good addition. Now, IF it ever rains there in Southern Cali, your covered.

Does anyone know what an intense vibration at idle would be caused by? I don’t know if it’s my junkyard transmission or some kind of engine idle issue.

Drive. Doesn’t seem to do it in Neutral or Park. I’m fact it goes away in Park or Neutral, or at least settles down.

Only happens when I’m stopped at a light for example. And it doesn’t happen all the time.

Is this with the AC on & does it stop with the AC off?

I don’t think it’s the AC. Happens with or without the AC compressor engaged.

My fear is that it’s my junkyard transmission. The original A340F torque converter was warped and shattered my flex plate. So I put the A340E torque converter which has a different stall speed of 300-400 RPM.

I never suspected engine mounts, it could be. Can they go bad at 99k?

I just don’t remember if this intense vibration happened with my A340E or not.

Yes an lots of auto vehicles vibrate at idle under load. It's super common because 4cyl are the most out of balance type of engine too

That's comforting. I was afraid I had a bad transmission or something along those lines.

It's all good, funny enough my engine feels so much smoother at idle and up to 3k with the hard poly mounts, but was super shaky in that range with the floppy rubber stock mounts.
