I bought a truck due to necessity of the bed. I probably won't take it anywhere that my fiance's outback can't go. That being said, her outback is quite capable. I'll try to find steps that mimic kickouts, or just bite the bullet and get sliders.

I know there are steps on Amazon which should work for you (Tyger?). Kickouts are really useful IMO. I use mine as a guide on rocks and a step and would recommend it.

Edit: Also useful when washing your truck lol

I’d go sliders, if they’re bolt on, you should be able to get a good amount of money for them when you decide to selcrhe truck. I couldn’t say the same for steps.

Lol literally. If you scroll through my build you'll see how many times I have back peddled.

Side note, do you have a picture with the awning open yet?

Some of these I posted earlier. Last one is so you can see size in relation to the GFC, this is a 2.5M ARB

Oh it fits perfect like you said earlier. I'm hoping theres a black friday sale, or i'll just use an eBay coupon when it comes up. Looks good.

There's room to have an awning and a roof crossbars and mounts..right?

Wow this is an amazing build, just took a peek at your instagram as well. Love the MGM with black GFC. I'm thinking of going white (off-white) GFC on my Super White 2018.

Yes. The GFC awning brackets are spaced out about 1 1/4" maybe to clear the gas struts so I believe the roof rack would fit in between them... Though I do not have a roof rack (as you can see) so I'm not 100% on that fact. Anyone on here running awning brackets and a GFC rack?

On a side note the teaser video of Graeme with the Roof Top Tent showed a fairing that is supposed to be coming soon, I'd sure like to see that, and I'd really like to see that half roof rack GFC is working on. I feel like those two things are in my future.

A response from GFC to a series of questions back in August, including roof rack and awning clearance:

    5. The roof rack and awning both fit on our extrusion (I've attached a picture for reference).

Hope this helps --let us know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    GFC Team

Thank you for the kind words I appreciate it. Building a truck can kind of be a labor of love as we all know. As others have stated our builds evolve over time as our needs change. I'm fairly fortunate that this doesn't have to be my daily driver so I can sort of set it up however I think is best for my camping needs. I'm going to try and dial it in a little more over the winter to take me fishing off the beaten path. I'd like a place to hold maybe 4 or 5 rod tubes, waders, stuff like that. trying to keep things off the roof because I like it low as possible. Thanks again for following along.
