hmm remans must be alot cheaper in cali than here. i had to do a used car inspection on a 06 civic hybrid that needed a battery... the reman was 2200 bucks...

 

Yeah honestly with junk like that I'd count yourself lucky if you dont have to pay to get rid of it. Gut it and sell the interior and you'll make some cash at least

 

I appear to be wrong, RockAuto wants $1,400. Thought I saw one cheaper.

I was going to rebuild it, but I don't want to take the risk.

 

honestly you could probably maximize profits with a partout.

 

It's a nice car. It drives smooth, and the interior is relatively modern. Way better than most 90's cars most of my friends drive. Would make a nice daily for someone.

You're right I'd make more money parting it out, but I don't have the time.

I don't have the time or space to do a partout like that. It's a good running car with a clean title, maybe if it was Salvage I'd part it out.

I just want it out of my driveway to be honest. I'd keep it if the insurance wasn't so high.

They're smart and keep them to re-sell. All chains around here do that.

 

Find a hypermiling weirdo that's willing to chance putting a battery in such a high mileage econobox then. But as is you can't reisgter it in your state so it's scrap.

 

I dont know whats crazier, the people spectacting or the people who put a few tires on a pole thinking that would protect anything from being flattened

 

Nothing is keeping me from registering it. A dead hybrid battery pack isn't grounds to fail emissions testing.

It's never failed SMOG, only reason I haven't smog'd it is because non of the sensors read as ready.

 

Oh it's drivable as a vehicle then... I dunno maybe its worth 1250 then

It runs and drives perfectly. Nothing is wrong with it other than the dead hybrid pack, which you don't even notice.

It works with the gasoline engine just fine, it's actually quite zippy for being a 1.3l I4. Way zippier than my I4.

 

Also what kind of snake oil is this? It looks like someone took a computer power supply and called it a Honda Civic 'grid balancer'
