    Bought my new Tacoma Apr 8th. Was on my way to the farm and noticed on the hills my Tacoma was "hunting" for a gear it was happy with going up the hills. I'm old enough to know the noises coming from the gear box were not normal. When I returned from the farm yesterday I brought it into Peterson Toyota. They had it for an hour and said it needed to have the ECM re-flashed. Quoted Toyota TSB-0058-18. It's done and I'm not heading back up till next week. I really hope there is an improvement. Has 4744 miles on it so far.

    Drove around town and I really don't feel a difference in shifting with the new ECM mods. 218 miles to the farm later this week. I will give it some miles over the passes and see what it's doing. Should I continue this thread in a different forum?

    Traded my Toyota CrewMax in for this Tacoma. Had 178,023 on it and the sun roof was having issues. This is the 3rd Tacoma used on the place. I like the width of the Tacoma on some of the roads I built over the years.....nice & thin. The ranch is in Dodge country...but I see more & more Toys as time passes.

    Got back from the farm last night. The mods the dealer did to the computer on my Tacoma worked very well. The shifting was noticeably different. Going down grades it was improved as well. Dash computer says I got 24 mpg combined up & back. White Bird Hill (7 Miles) it shifted more near the top going through the pass. I will be going back up and getting 1200 LBs of 'cut & wrapped' beef next month for the family larder. Coming back with that load will be the real issue as the roads will have snow. As for now the TSB-0058-18 worked super.
