can I put a 4:10 ratio in my rear axle and keep the 3:91 ratio in the front? Would I need to change anything else?

No. Not unless you wanted to use 4x4.

No you will destroy your diffs when you put it into 4wd. everything needs to spin at the same speed. If you need a 4:10 front Diff I have one in my storage

I understand this is your first post, but that title has to be one of the worst I've seen. One word titles are just about useless.

Pro tip: State your question, concern, observation, etc., in your title using as few words as possible.

Example: "Can I have a different gear ratio in front than in back?"

if this was a solid axle rig and only a trail rig some guuys do this in their snow wheelers but not in a daily driver.

Unless one is married to Erma the transfer case rebuilding goddess even for a snow wheeler this would be a stupid idea.

I'd seen 5.19 dana front solid axle with 5.29 rear toyota axle and it perform fine.

Only one way top find out, try it...

I know, I know, but I needed a half ton.
A guy I used to work with had a higher gear ratio in the front axel in his mud truck. Reason being so the front tires would spin faster and keep the truck going straight. He only went 100 yards in a pass, but did lose the front driveshaft often. I guess 1000 hp will do that!

I ran different gears F/R over one winter when I was too impatient and immature to wait till I could afford both diffs. I was very careful to only engage 4x4 when I had all 4 wheels on snow. When I finally replaced with front diff with the regeared it had 3 teeth missing.

The short answer is no. Everything is locked together and will all move at the same speed. If anything is preventing that, such as miss matched gear teeth ratios, it will be deformed until it is not preventing it. In the case of heat treated metals, the result is fracture.

it is more common in solid axle rigs. not our trucks. no ifs rig is strong enough to run different ratios for sure.
