Part of the deal was they all had to be called sprinters no matter whose badge was on it

 

As any ER nurse will tell you, don't put it up there if it doesn't have something to keep it from going all the way in

 

So do they both have Merc diesel engines, or does each brand throw their own engine in there?

 

It's all Mercedes parts as any Dodge technician will grumble to you about when he realizes he doesn't have the education or patience to work on the fuckers.

 

Pretty sure the ram is gas, probably has a diesell option

 

I remember taking a look at a Merc wiring schematic, and immediately put it down and gave up.

First off, it was in Black and White with some kind of Hexadecimal coding for the wire ID's, and second I don't understand German.

You know early Mercs had hydraulic operated windows?

 

The older fwd Toyota’s had hydraulic fans on the radiators. They used pressure from the power steering pump to turn on and off.... never really had any issues

For normal size tires electric PS is pretty damn good. For an SUV or truck it's a definite no

 

It's not the fittings that fail, it's where it has to to seal around shafts and such that do, epecially the ones that slide laterally. Same with the fan, it has to turn a shaft somewhere and there's a seal there.

 

Would you want electric steering on the Z though?

Just not an oomph, I doubt you've been perched on rocks where your hydraulic PS is struggling, but I can't imagine electric being able to help enough, have to be way more powerful than what comes in cars now to do it's job in a truck.
