    Yeah if I could find electric PS for that I would totally do that swap. You can adjust it's feel for speed and I wouldnt have to worry about rack seals failing and leaking.

    That's one benefit but you lose the feel of direction on the tires. Especially when you slide about.

    You don't lose feel at all, you could make it feel like manual steering if you want to. It's really adjustable

    Supercharged, AEM FIC/6, Meth Inj, ION Alloy's, Radio & Phone steering Wheel controls,Fabtech AAL, Billie's wrapped with 880's , Tundra big brake conversion, bully bars and Pioneer DDin Stereo/dvd with exterrnal usb ports. 290K and going strong.
    Mosy new electric p/s os a motor turning a spur gear on the steering shaft under the dash. Basic manual steering with electric assist.

    All I know it was tricky to determine where the wheels where cause there was no sense of feeling

    Im pretty sure the old bugs had some kind of sequential tranny that was vacuum operated

    Why do you need to drop it to remove the shocks or springs. Shocks will come right off, you can muscle them around. The springs you can rent a spring compressor to dick with if it won't drop far enough.

    Your trying to replace the shock? Just let the rear hang and pull down on the shock and it should compress.

    Disconnecting the sway bar usually allows the rear to drop enough to get rear springs out... may have enough room to muscle in lift springs too
